Interesting. I like the burst. I also like the 24.72 scale length. The asymmetrical neck profile is interesting. Don't know how that will feel. I hate piezo pickups. But there are some modeling pedal options out there that can greatly help that.
Could be very cool.

Ah, I don’t know about that thing. Looks uncomfortable to hold even with the faux sides in place. It reminds me of the horrible Backpacker.

Lonnie used one of these when he went to Japan.

I bet you could add a pickup, too.

Ha ha. I don't think a SBT or a soundhole mag would work.
I think you should buy one and let me know what you think.
Most of the videos I watched on it sounded quackie. One guy had it sounding great.
One reviewer was grousing about the neck relief.

Lonnie used one of these when he went to Japan. I bought one of those Yammys a few years ago. But the frame bothered me where it gets wide up at the upper bout. Irked me. I thought of cutting it back to match the width of the rest of the frame. But then it would be worthless, and I probably wouldn't like it anyway. I bought it from Sweetwater, so I just sent it back.

This one sort of appeals to me. They go for around $700-750, as I recall.

Lonnie used one of these when he went to Japan. Garnet Rogers played one of those things or something similar to it when he was in Cedar Rapids about ten years ago. He used Dunlap metal fingerpicks by the way. Adjusting to something so narrow in terms of body width from a regular guitar would really do a number on my motor memory when trying to play it.

I don’t know. I think it might be a fun guitar to drag along on trips.

The Donner is headless, so it'll be shorter for carrying. The Yamaha has better electronics (so reported). Probably a better neck. But it was harder to put together than the video on the Donner.

I just might go for it. The price is nice. I realize I might as well just get a cheapy Steinberger electric if I'm just interested in making it something other than what it is. But the Donner headphone jack makes it kind of nice for sitting and playing on the sofa while the rest of the family is watching TV. Either way, bringing a Donner or a Steinberger Spirit to IJam may raise some brows. Or plug some ears, depending on how the pickup in the Donner sounds.

The Donner neck looked to be flat backed. I'm not expecting I'd like it. Plus the unchangeable electronics. But go ahead. On other fronts I'm looking at the Enya X3 Pro Mini. It's a carbon fiber GS-Mini, or so it seems. A little longer scale = 24". They say it has X-Braces. Only $400. But I've bought on Amazon 2 guitars already that I've returned. A Joytar J2 and a Kloss Dread. So, I think I'm on thin ice with returns.

DANG ! They got me.
I popped into Amazon and the Enya X3 Pro Mini popped up as a Black Friday deal for 20% off. So only $320. But you have to join Amazon Prime. 30 days free trial. And you can cancel at any time. And there are free returns on the Enya guitar if you don't like it.
Just too crazy to pass up a trial. If I should like the thing, I can sell my GS Mini and my Rainsong. If I don't like it I send it back and cancel my Prime subscription.
I'm a cheap old goat.

I've been a Prime member for... 10 years now? Streaming movies on Prime is awesome. Plus "free" shipping, etc. I'm going to put different strings on the Donner and see what I think.
