Good morning. It'll be clear here, 40s-60s. Other than church and making dinner I have nothing planned.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning. It's about to start raining here in Spring Hill as a cold front moves through this morning. I've got Arsenal/Liverpool later this morning and chicken pot pie to attempt to prepare this afternoon. Yesterday I went to the local park to sit in the gazebo and make noise with my guitar and vocal chords. Haven't done this in a while and unfortunately, I discovered that the gazebo has been replaced with a pickleball court. Ended up on a bench by the walking trail but it's not the same as the gazebo. Oh well. Have good ones.

No Amazon for me today. I have the day off and plan to do some throwing-things-away. I have a dozen pairs of worn out running shoes, papers that I folded up and stuffed in my pockets in a hurry, old socks, plaster molds, brushes, sponges ... in three years time I've created little piles of stuff I needed to deal with later. Today is later.

Good morning.
24F-46F mostly cloudy.
It's Sunday you all know what we will do. Although the alarm clock is giving up the ghost so we may go find a new one today, thrilling.

I am in the process of cooking a German pancake for breakfast, custom ordered by the resident teenager. (She baked a soft almond cake last night for my wife's birthday that is so delicious.)
Carry on and have a good day.

A rare sunny day. Off to church then hanging out with granddaughters. Record high temps predicted -- this neighborhood will explode with kidz.

Up and coffee. Breakfast this am at Bannings with the kids and Nitaβs parents. Showing off the the Rav, which needs a wash. Maybe getting the dark blue was not the smartest move, though it looks good when itβs clean.

Ahem... the Dutch would like to offer a correction. That looks to be a Dutch baby.

Agreed. But if you check, it is also called a German pancake. The reason we use that term in our home is because the teen is deeply into Formula 1 racing and she has vilified Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver who won just about every race last season. So, we try to keep mentions of the Dutch to a minimum here.

That looks suspiciously like a Norwegian Flapjackson. Only difference is Norwegian Flapjacksons have lots of butter and syrup on them (and sometimes peanut butter).

I bought a new car yesterday. Pick it up on Monday. Ended up going with a CR-V EX-L.
Did it all over the phone. I spent a couple days working with three different dealers. After several back and forth phone calls with sales managers, one finally came within $75 bucks of my bottom line ($1,500 below invoice, with dealer add-ons thrown out or offered free).
(and I got that $400 add-on third rear light pulser thing for free... whoopee! Dealer add-ons are 100% mark-ups. Throw them out of the deal.)
That offer was pretty darn close, ("Paul, we're so close, work with me here"), so I moved my bottom line up a bit.

I find it pretty easy not to mention the Dutch. What is there to say?

I checked out some dealers in the Cities. They would advertise deals like "a $1,000 dealer discount off list", but then they had added a couple thousand dollars of dealer add-ons to that list price, things like window tinting, paint "protection", road hazard, etc., all crap and all at dealer-inflated prices. Add on two thousand then take one off, great discount.

Those of us only a few generations removed from Boshuis are slightly saddened by this.

Had a wonderful early lunch at Nico's Tacos, an ear of roasted corn and a puerco en salsa verde taco on their amazing nixtamal tortillas, washed down with an excellent margarita. Anyone familiar with the nixtamalization process for tortillas? It's becoming quite the trend here.
