"So, we try to keep mentions of the Dutch to a minimum here." I find it pretty easy not to mention the Dutch. What is there to say?
(He died in Amsterdam.)

Or "Dutch Wife," "Dutch Uncle," "Dutch courage" and "Dutch ovens."

Or "going Dutch."
I apologize for my wholly unjustified comment about the fine people who inhabit that little country near Belgium.

Good morning. 24F-46F mostly cloudy. It's Sunday you all know what we will do. Although the alarm clock is giving up the ghost so we may go find a new one today, thrilling. Alarm clock? Don't you own one of those popular combination camera/address book/calendar/telephone/Internet browser/encyclopedia/alarm clock/mp3 player/video player/solitaire game/devices?

My Grandad was Dutch. He moved to Brazil before WWII. He was quite a character. That German/Dutch baby pancake is also a gussied up Yorkshire pudding.
DADGAD on the Fylde today. New strings, new acrylic nails. Played the usual noodling old nonsense that no milkman will ever whistle. My Grammy ambitions are definitely on the wane.

Don't you own one of those popular combination camera/address book/calendar/telephone/Internet browser/encyclopedia/alarm clock/mp3 player/video player/solitaire game/devices? She does. But the first time her alarm goes off on a weekday morning @ 6am it gets a rather firm slap on the snooze button. That is my cue to get up and make coffee and put a cup of it on her bedside. Then I go back to sleep if the cats will let me. My phone alarm goes off at 8am to remind me to take my meds and get my butt moving.

Agreed. But if you check, it is also called a German pancake. The reason we use that term in our home is because the teen is deeply into Formula 1 racing and she has vilified Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver who won just about every race last season. So, we try to keep mentions of the Dutch to a minimum here.
Those of us only a few generations removed from Boshuis are slightly saddened by this.
I'm sorry. Teen-aged girls, you know?
