Good morning. Sunny morning here, going to be a nice weather day. Hope all who are ill or recovering progress well today.
Yesterday I changed the strings on all my acoustic guitars, except for the 12 string. That will have to wait for another day. Meanwhile, it's like I've got a bunch of new guitars. One thing I noticed. When tuning them all up after stretching out the strings I noticed they seemed to go right to the standard tuning even before I verified on the tuner. Do guitars develop "muscle memory" for the tunings we most often put them in? I no longer mess around with alternate tunings so all my guitars remain in standard. Just a thought while waking up in the morning.
Have a great day.

Well I hadn't looked at the news yet so I learned about the bridge here. It looks like there wasn't that much loss of life. I'll hope for none.
I plan to take a short hike in the mountain preserve. My new eyeglasses are about three weeks old and a nose pad came off, so with some irritation I'll go to the eyecare place to get them fixed. That's about it.
Have a good day.

Yeow. Looks to me like there were no lights on the pilon structure of the bridge. Nor on the ship. In the dark it's be hard to see. Plus you don't turn a cargo ship around quickly at all.

My guess is the ship lost power, much like the New Orleans incident. Which, by the way, it wasn't Walt, it was his brother.

[...] Wendy and I are ailing from a particularly rough flu. She was so weak yesterday she couldn't stand. A little stronger today...
I hope you both feel better soon!

Any guitar I string up is usually within a step of near in tune, no magic, just repetitive motion. You are probably more adapt at it than I because you are always doing the same guitars. Don't "stretch out" the strings by tugging on them. Tune them and then let the guitar rest for a while before retuning. The way I install strings the ball ends are always seated properly and I let the guitar rest, *if possible, so the string windings can settle naturally not forcibly by tugging on them. *I will change to another project if I have time so the strings can settle. But not if a client is waiting.

Flu can be nasty. Hope all turns out well. Hoping for positive updates on Todd and LJ. And Marty.
Need to clean the condo today. Yesterday I was really windy and there is desert dust everywhere. Nita’s Sister and Brither in law will arrive tomorrow for a visit and we want them to think we are organized and clean. As if.
I managed to replace the cabin filter in the truck, and it wasn’t too bad once I picked up the plastic trim remover tools from Harbor Frieght. Twenty bucks for the filter, four bucks for a 7mm socket from Amazon, ten bucks for the trim tool kit. Still figure I’m money ahead over having Ford do it. And the filter I bought has activated charcoal to neutralize smells, which should come in handy when driving past stockyards in Coalinga CA. So.
Hope everyone stays healthy, and has a good day.

My status and thoughts seem unimportant This morning. However, I do plan to visit Todd this afternoon.

Good morning.
22F-35F heavy snow.
Good day to stay home. Which has not been difficult for me lately as I've been sleeping about 18 hours a day. Today may be different, we'll see. My kitties won't go out, don't blame them.
The Baltimore I-95 bridge collapse was in the very early morning hours so fortunately there was a minimum of people on it. When MN-35W went down it was during rush hour. Like 9/11 it's one of those events where you will always remember where you were at that time.

When I restring I tune initially tune them a bit high and give them a few hours to stretch before I go to standard so I guess I've been unknowingly doing the correct thing. Good to know.

Just busy work and court filings until this afternoon, then off for an overdue haircut. I want to ride my little motorcycle for such errands, but the weather is not cooperating.
Thoughts out to Evan, Wendy, LJ and Todd.

That works, just don't tug on them as it can make the windings uneven.
