Imma go out on a limb here and suggest that perhaps there is no such thing as a blue corn moon. That's probably why the wolf is howling. He knows.

Stephen Schwartz made up the term "blue corn moon" for Pocahontas' song "Colors of the Wind" because he "liked the sound of it”, according to the extensive research I have done using Bing & Google. He has a poetic license and he isn’t afraid to use it. Sit back and enjoy the tune and put your uptight ways to the side. After all, did you ever see a rama lama ding dong?
Now, down in Muskrat Hollar, Blue Corn Moon refers to a sour mash made from blue corn. It is especially strong and Uncle Zeb has howled at the moon after drinking a jar or two. He has howled at a lot of stuff.
