Good morning. Not only is it Federal Income Tax deadline day, but for you baseball fans and champions of civil rights, it is also the 77th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's debut in the major leagues.
"On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson, age 28, becomes the first African American player in Major League Baseball's modern era when he steps onto Ebbets Field in Brooklyn to compete for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson broke the color barrier in a sport that had been segregated for more than 50 years. Exactly 50 years later, on April 15, 1997, Robinson’s groundbreaking career was honored and his uniform number, 42, was retired from Major League Baseball by Commissioner Bud Selig in a ceremony attended by over 50,000 fans at New York City’s Shea Stadium. Robinson’s was the first-ever number retired by all teams in the league."
'Tis the season. Enjoy your day.

Good morning. The taxes are done. We owe the IRS $99. I think that's pretty good. My spouse thinks we're not withholding enough if we don't get money back. I'll handle this difference of opinion as I handle most of them, i.e., by capitulating.
I have a doctor's appointment that would be handled by a phone call under a more sensible system. Oh well.
Enjoy your day.

Never give them your money to hold for you. The goal being not to give them any more money than they have coming. So $99 payment is about as perfect as you can get.

We quit paying taxes in 1999. And since we collect SS from accounts of dead people, we figure that is tax free, too. The hard part is remembering the aliases and the accents if there is a phone call. Pretty day in the neighborhood.

Good morning. 47F-67F mostly sunny. Down to the shop after breakfast. Our new Trash/Recycling unit gets delivered today and DaWife will spend the evening putting it together. I will stay as far away as I can get. She will do it right but I know better than to get in the line of fire while she is doing so. Still haven't found that set of flat wounds. I have others so I'll get on with it. A few days back there was a discussion about the make of guitar in a video. Terry suggested it was a David Russel Young. I went through my library for Young's book and Terry was spot on. It was indeed a Young guitar no doubt. Bet that guitar is worth a bit.

Dream Guitars has one for sale listed at $30,000.

Sunny and clear, high near 70 predicted.
Gotta go to the gym for the first time in a week, maybe a bike ride. Started working in the garage to store the snowblower, get out the lawnmower, and rearrange stuff for summer. Dawn's vehicle will be exiled until November, the garage will be filled with bikes, yard toys, etc.

In fact that guitar my be pictured in his book, or one exactly like it.

No apologies necessary but don’t expect to see that $5000 soon. I have his book, too. I was really fascinated by his guitars back in the 70s. He was one of the first independent builders. Then, I discover Dan Crary and Mossman guitars.

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeously perfect. I did a little garden cleaning, put some tomatoes in the Brand New Greenhouse (they are still in gallon pots so I can bring them back in it should go hell next week)...
AND I grilled my first ribeye of the season. And made myself my first gin and tonic to go with it. And my second and third as well!

Robinson was one of my heroes. As a child, school friends thought I should have a favorite baseball team. I didn’t understand why I should but decided to select one to keep them happy. I picked the Brooklyn Dodgers because they had a black player. I thought that was worth cheering. When the Dodgers left Brooklyn for the west coast, I felt completely let down. I realized the whole sport was just a money thing and they didn’t care about fans at all. I pretty much stopped caring about professional sports after that.

My father always told me the same thing. We owe a lot!

I found that damn set of flat wounds just as I was about to open a set of compound wound. On edge leaning against the water jug on my side bench, perfect spot to hide.

Good morning/afternoon. Taxes done last week, life goes on. I got up a bit early and took a walk around Weeki Wachi Prairie Lake this morning. Got some excellent photos. I'll post more in the photography section. I've got an appointment at the VA later this afternoon for a follow up on my new hearing aids. Maybe a bike ride after that. It depends on how tired I feel after this mornings hike around the lake. We'll see...... Have a great day folks.

We owed thousands on our taxes. Can't say that I paid happily, but I was expecting it. We do like to owe a little, but not that much.
I don't think we're going anywhere today. Mr. H has an eye injection tomorrow and it's the eye that he actually uses, so he's trying to get ahead of things in case he can't see well after the injection. I have laundry in the dryer. I had a dream about playing mando last night. That must mean that I've neglected it for too long. I should probably exercise the bass while I'm at it.
