Good morning.
56F-77F cloudy.
Busy day yesterday. Saturday shop followed by an early nap so I wouldn't get too tired while at the Optometrist. We both have new glasses on order. Once DaWife retires in two weeks her employee health plan ends so we needed to get that done. Then a walk around Rosedale Center Mall to look for Summer dresses, should have invited Hammond. Then a nice lunch of street style tacos.
Tyler texted me about putting 2 more P90 pickups in a mid pickup Gibson ES-330 for a customer at his store, he manages Roseville Music Go Round. I told him no because 1. I didn't want to trash a vintage guitar and 2. because he wants to do it and get paid for it. Well I've never shown him how to do such a big job which means I'm going to be doing a lot of it, not getting paid for it and not doing paying work while I supervise him. Well he's not happy with me so I'll have to explain the dangers of taking on that kind of work and how it can turn into a can of worms real quick if you don't know what you are doing.

Overcast, cool, and dark this morning. Looks like rain but Alexa says no. We’ll see.

Yes, it's a good morning.
The church choir is off for the summer so my wife and I can go to the same service and sit together. Today we'll go to the small, simple service at 8:00. It's already hot enough that we tend to do whatever we want to do in the morning and then mostly hunker down during the hot afternoon. There'll be three months of that.
Enjoy your day.

It very foggy here this morning, but it'll burn off soon.
I'm going to head out for a bike ride (pedal type) soon, hope my butt holds up for 20 miles. I should be a beautiful ride on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail this morning.
I might try to get my big rock tumbler filled and running this afternoon, I've got some bigger Lake Superior agates I'd like to get polished.

A luthier friend told me he turned down doing a job once and told the customer he could not in good conscience do what he requested. The customer, of course, took the guitar somewhere else and got the job done. My friend said he did not regret his decision. He said, I will get the repair when the guy wises up wants to restore the guitar.

We won't be attending church in person during June and July and it feels weird. We will be gone for some Sundays. For the others, we decided that we simply aren't willing to get up early enough to get our walk done, have breakfast, shower, dress, and get there for the single 9:30 AM service that the church has decided to do for those two months. I understand why it's being done. A small enough attendance already and even smaller as people escape the heat. Plus the organ in the sanctuary is being replaced during June.
Lox and bagels planned for today's breakfast. Maybe a trip to Trader Joe's later. This is probably the best day to go because there is road work along every possible route there and it won't be in progress today.
Only going to hit 100F today, but it will be 108 on Thursday. Yep, we're getting up at 6:00 AM starting tomorrow. Not early by Cornflake standards, but early enough for me.

If you don't already have such a saddle, a gel-filled saddle with center cut-out can be miraculous. I went through two saddles on my current gravel bike before I found one that is comfortable and non-cumbersome.

Rain overnight, cloudy and cool now, partly sunny later.
Off to church, afternoon plans uncertain. Maybe a hike or bike ride.

Our friend really loved the helicopter ride we gifted him. We all very much enjoyed taking in the aerial view of Milwaukee.
Heading to a beer garden this afternoon. My friends are playing and the weather is supposed to be perfect.
Have a lovely day, everyone.

Raining this PM. Wasted a couple of hours with a tough Suduco but finally got it. Played some guitar and then got the tuners on a new guitar and the nut roughed in as well as a setup on a customer’s instrument.

What brand is it? Do you use the same soap for mahogany and rosewood guitars?

Surely you’ve heard of “dialing” in tone.

Terry uses soap. I keep a small piece of paraffin around the shop but it has nothing to do with tone.
Anybody know what we use them for?

Wasted a couple of hours with a tough Suduco but finally got it. You might try the puzzle spelled Sudoku -- maybe it's easier.
