Good morning. Early morning rain today. It's cleared up and the rest of the day should be clear but we'll see. I don't have any plans so I'll just wing it and see what shakes out.
Have a great day!

Emerging from the chaos of transferring daughter's clan earthly possessions to a Uhaul truck yesterday. Insane amount of books and bookcases. Chaos. Heat. Crying kiddos. Heat. Sweat.
A bit more chaos today until we see truck off with Thomas, his dad, and friend Beau.

Good morning.
We don't have much planned except to do a little dog shopping. The organization we're working with to find a lab will have a few available to meet at an event a half mile from our house, so we'll go. We keep reminding each other not to fall in love with the first one we see.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning from here. I found one of my dog's nails on the sofa this morning. She's currently out in the park with my wife. Tom Petty's Greatest Hits is playing on the Bluetooth speaker. The windows are open and a soft breeze is blowing through the apartment.
We had some friends over for dinner last night, and their two teenagers. We have known them since Her Grace was about two years old. Seven or eight years ago, they moved to Madrid, original home of the mom (an art historian) in this family. The dad is from Connecticut but speaks fluent Spanish. He teaches biology in the international high school in Madrid. They come to the States just about every summer to visit friends and his family. Their kids are smart, articulate, and well mannered. It was a very pleasant evening.
No major plans today. The streak of awful humid rainy weather of the past week seems to have moved on, so we're expecting sunny and in the mid-80s today. I will definitely take a long walk and try to avoid the crowds in the park. Perhaps I'll wander over to the green market to see if some old-timey music friends are playing.
papabill Good to see you back, and I wish you as good a state of health as possible.
Get some rest, Evan! Have a pleasant day, folks.

Spending an enjoyable morning on the sofa watching the debut of men's "Breaking" in the Olympics. A different set of athletic and rhythmic abilities than I've seen previously in this Olympics. Thoroughly enjoyable, even though I have no idea how it's scored or what's good and what's bad.
Tonight is Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at an outdoor amphitheater, with Adeem The Artist opening. This will be the 7th time seeing Isbell in concert. Erin was worried this was going to be a scorcher ("what are we doing going to an outdoor concert in August?!?") but it turns out we should only be seeing a high of 80-ish, maybe, today.

A pleasant breezy Septemberish morning.
A good time had by all at the old-time jam last night. I am indeed clumsy at playing banjo along with a fiddler, fortunately the fiddlers are at a beginning to intermediate level and there is much mutual forgiveness. Four people, all are grandparents, all of us like John Prine's songs.
Muddling about the house before meeting granddaughters at a petting zoo type event.
Papabill - good to see ya!
Cornflake - best of luck in your lab endeavor

Up, skept in late due to Anita’s restlessness at 3am. But we have good coffee and pastries thanks to a Great bakery we found yesterday.what we don’t have is reliable internet. Keeps dropping the iPad. Oh well. Tonight is an oyster fest with some 60 or so other air streamers. Other campers in the park keep walking by saying “I’ve never seen so many airstreams before”.

Kamala and Uncle Timmy stopped at this place for takeout tamales after their big rally yesterday: cocinaadamex.com/The place is known for its huge conchas, a specialty I didn't even know about until meandering around their site and then Googling.

When Obama came to Phoenix for a rally in 2008, he had Mexican food at a restaurant called Macayo's. Macayo's was owned and operated by the Johnson family. The food was by gringos, for gringos. If he'd only called me I could have taken him to a much better place.

I'm not a fan of conchas. Bigger isn't better. They tend to be overly sweet and not very interesting. And the iridescent colors on many of them don't appeal. But I don't even like donuts, which apparently a lot of people love.
Breakfast this morning was whole wheat pancakes topped with fresh strawberries and homemade yogurt. I do like sweets, but prefer those with some substance.
