My seat last night was in the balcony, accessible from the fourth floor. It was a big theater. I had a big pillar just to the right of my seat. I guess one can't be too picky when the ticket is free, and one happened to walk over right before the DNC convention ended/the show got ready to broadcast. Gillian Welch & David Rawlings released their album this morning. I'm listening as I get ready to head over to the Fretboard Summit. It is very good so far; to me, better than the last album of originals. Really, really nice.

Good morning. I am also listening to the new Welch/Rawlings album as I type this, waiting for her Grace to rise so I can get the coffee on. It's a lovely album.
Finished working with the first load of framed photos yesterday, returned them to the storage space, and picked up another load. There are portraits of Adlai Stevenson, Cszeslav Milosz, Peter Matthiessen, Alexandra Danilova, Aldous Huxley, Liv Ullman, Saul Bellow, Bernard Malamud, and others. It's incredible at moments to think about my father meeting and photographing all these people who were in the news in the last century.
I'll be working on the second load in a little while. Just a couple of parcels I couldn't fit in the shopping cart left to process, which I will fetch later or tomorrow morning. This project is promising to be monumental and arduous. Pass the B-vitamin complex!

Cloudy and coolish. Might get a little muggy later on.
A little noisy at the moment as Best Buy contractors install a new microwave oven. We have suffered greatly over the past 10 days, being unable to warm up our coffee in pottery mugs. And a terrible hardship to heat up leftovers on the stovetop instead of pressing buttons.
Muddling about the house today, might make it out to the old time jam in Grand Haven this evening. It will be challenging in that I haven't practiced anything old-timey in the last two weeks.

Beautiful morning here. My neighbor told me yesterday he was coming over this morning, with his tractor, outfitted with bucket and back hoe, to help me move the rocks from around the stump from the tree that was recently removed.
I need to get the rocks and detritus moved, because someone is coming soon to grind the stump.
Trip to the grocery store this afternoon and I'll stop at Phil's. Big gig tomorrow, 10:00 1:00 at Boom Town. It's early enough, and we're under the big top, so heat shouldn't be a problem. Todd will be joining us for several tunes. Fun!

Some needed rain overnight and cloudy out this morning. My adjustment to decaf coffee is going well. I am making Americanos with Pete decaf Major Dickason blend.
According to my limited research, decaf has the benefits of regular coffee, that is a large dose of antioxidants, without the negative effects of caffeine.

I followed your example. She hasn't emailed me, though. Maybe she's tied up at a rally or something.

Well, that depends on how you feel about the copious amounts of cow urine they use in making that stuff. Much does remain in the final product. (if you notice your nipples swelling and some breast enlargement, get off the stuff immediately. Well, unless you like the look. Nothing wrong with it.)

Not a fan of out of state money... but as long as the card was out, I sent $50 to that guy running against Kari Lake, as well. Just because.

The MN State Fair opened yesterday, and close to 2 million folks will visit over its 12-day run. There's a free shuttle-bus stop in a church down the block from my house, and its lot fills up quickly, so fairgoers park on adjacent streets, like mine. It gives me a wonderful opportunity to see how many people are really clueless about parking.

Hummmm, no comments on Kennedy endorsing Trump. I think his speech was better than Kamala's. He was at least talking about real problems, not hope and joy.

I watched Colbert every night after the convention. At least his opening monolog. Seemed like a fun experience. I've been in the upper reaches of the Auditorium Theater. Quite scary up there. When Sue got her Masters diploma from Roosevelt, me and the kids sat up there to cheer at the commencement. My mom used to take the family to see musicals in the Auditorium Theater. Once (decades ago) Sue and I got main floor seats for Paul Simon in there for free when she worked for a radio station.
