Good morning. I suppose this is the daily.
Today I will be delivering 19 of my father's signed 11x14 prints of personalities to Heritage Auctions, partly to start moving this collection, and partly to see how much demand there is for this era of work. I hope for positive results.
Rain on the way, a high of 68° here today.
Not much else to say except I will be assisting Her Grace this afternoon in a birthday present shopping trip for something "vintage."
Wishing everyone a good day.

You're up because you want to catch the worm.
We're having a late-season heat wave. I like to think it's summer's last gasp. Other than a lunch meeting I have nothing planned.

Up, coffee poured.
I'll be hauling my bike to Cedar Rapids this morning and then riding to Solon and back. Not sure of the distance, I've done the ride before but it's been a couple years.

Good morning. Another day of hurricane preps. Not much left to do besides monitoring the track. Looks like a miss for the center but storms and wind will be still hitting us. We'll get by.
Have a great day.

Rain is coming. I am leaving. Should be dry where we are headed. Keep the rubber side down.

Barb’s 97 year old sister had a stroke a week ago. She is in the stroke center here in town. It’s maybe a mile & a half away. She is actually doing pretty well although she is unable to walk. Her vision has improved quite a bit and she is working hard in PT. All we can do is wait and see. We have to keep the fact she is 97 front and center.
Her other sister is 95, going on 96. My two sisters are 90 & 86. Thinking about our surviving siblings at that age is a sobering thought. It seems to have happened overnight. Of course, we say that about our ages, too.
Hang in there and don’t lose your grip.

The new forecast puts us more squarely in the path of Helene. We are far enough inland that it will have weakened quite a bit by the time it arrives, but we have a tropical storm warning in effect. They say we should expect 4-8 inches of rain, with some places getting 10 inches. I live on high(ish) ground, so the house should be okay as far as water goes. I'm concerned about the abundant shallow-rooted pines that surround my house, though. Saturated ground and high winds mean uprooted trees.
Ken, I hope you are spared anything significant.

drlj , I am sorry to read about Barb's sister. I hope for the best outcome.
I'm back from Heritage Auctions. Some of the items I saw in their showroom: five Hermès Birkin bags (all you cognoscenti will know), the least expensive being priced at $23K, the priciest at $36K.
An Hermès Birkin bag.
There was also a row of costumes from "Game of Thrones" in the front windows, on either side of the entrance, whose price tags I did not check, including the outfit Diana Rigg wore, her granddaughter's outfit, and a suit of armor one of those guys wore. We'll see how my father's photos sell come November.
The East Side is in mild chaos and on alert today, since the UN General Assembly is in session—NYPD everywhere. The President is supposed to be addressing the ambassadors today, also. Glad I'm home now.

Ken and Shannon, I hope you stay safe and out of harm's way.
Balance the bank account, a dog park visit, do some babysitting, and mow the lawn are the only requirements of the day. I will see what else comes along.

Between my doctors and my children and grandchildren, there seems to be a movement to try and get me to eat and live healthier. It's like I'm supposed to stop living so I can live longer. Forget it, I'm going for flavor over nutrition. Holly (oldest daughter) is taking us down the Gulf Coast next week. We typically spend three or four days. This time she wants to spend a week. In the interim, we're watching the tropical storm(s) and hurricane advisories. Hoping to enjoy a bit of sunshine but even if we don't, maybe I can get some reading time and/or drawing time. Then there's the food! Mmmmmmm!

Just try to take care of yourself while you go for all the flavor, Bill. 😉

Greetings from Boardman Marina and RV park, where there is a wind advisory until 10 or 11 tonight. Pretty little park in spite of the copious quantities of dust in the air. Looks like there are five other airstreams here, all headed to the Alpenfest rally tomorrow. I expect German food and the chicken dance will be on tap. Driving the trailer through the wind gusts in the Gorge today was interesting, if you like feeling on the edge of disaster, but we made it. Tomorrow the weather should be better.
