Good morning. Rise and shine.
We'll attend church this morning. This afternoon we'll travel to Tempe to celebrate grandson Max's first birthday. That'll be fun.
Odd Wordle. Enjoy your day.

Our church is back to two Sunday services after doing just one over the summer. So we are back to attending in person. After that I have just enough time to get us home, change clothes, load the car, and go to my uke group.
Still hot, but we did get down to 78F for this morning's low.

58 degrees, the bike is loaded and I'm about to set off. This morning I'll be videoing and taking stills on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, from Brandon to Laporte City. This section of Trail is very different from most of the trail, instead farmland, this section parallels the Cedar River. Mostly back water area, but with the River high, I should see lots of water. Once I cross the Cedar River, I'll be back in the farmland, into Laporte.

Morning. Got some small but fresh tomatoes plucked from the garden so breakfast is going to be chorizo and eggs with all the usual chop. Probably do a little hike today and maybe play a little gee tar.
Everyone be well

Good morning.
60F-78F cloudy.
The truck is still waiting to be fixed so the girls are taking use to The Little Oven. Don't know if they are taking us shopping. I'll just go along and do as I'm told, makes life easier that way.
Then it's down to the shop for a while. I might glue the fingerboard on the Porter today.
I was just about to make dinner last night when neighbor Chef Shawn texted and said he was bringing us Braised kielbasa, mac & cheese and roasted veggies. It was wonder full, I was so full I could hardly move.

Rainy, Denver crew left at 6:30 AM. they will do the whole trip in one day. They do have four drivers so that helps. Their Subaru turned out to need a new catalytic converter but the mechanic said they could just keep deactivating the engine warning light with the scanner and get it done under warranty in Denver. Hope he was right.
Pretty quiet with them gone, always sad for a few days until we re-adapt. We got a lot done and the girls still love playing ball tag off the pontoon.

I just read an article about great pie places in Iowa, which included Kathy's Pies in Cedar Rapids and the Ox Yoke Inn in the Amana Colonies.
Dub, Joe: Legit?
Now I am craving pie, of course.

Damit Bill, now I’m craving pie too. Hmm, the wife unit will be gone for a bit today. Blue Raven pie has a store front in McMinville, only about 20 minutes away. Hmmmm.
Overcast and a bit of a cool down, sposed to get to 76° today. No real plans.

Our favorite place in Traverse City, MI. Well, one of our favorite places. gtpie.com/locations/traverse-city-original/Great place for lunch, too. Besides wonderful sandwiches they have great chicken pot pies. I prefer their Traverse City Cherry, the Triple Berry, and the Dutch Apple pies for dessert. One of each. Hold the ice cream. I don’t want to look like a glutton.

It’s Sunday? How did that happen? Was Saturday canceled? I am pretty sure yesterday was Friday.

I’ve eaten both but don’t often order pie anywhere any longer. Kathy’s Pies are highly regarded and people will place orders in advance to get them. I think they are overly sweet. I prefer a fruit pie that features a fresh fruit flavor over a sweet taste. The Ox Yoke Inn’s pies might be better. I think fruit pies should be made using fresh fruit or berries and feature a crust made using lard. Sugar should be used sparingly.

Best pie I’ve ever had is the huckleberry peach pie at the Broken Arrow in Gibbonsville Idaho. They put it out warm and fresh daily at 5pm. Flaky lard crust and local berries. Best order it with your supper as the slices go quick.
