Good Morning Nice breakfast with Bill at the Square Peg this morning. Yesterday Taylor guitars confirmed that they are flying me out to San Diego for training at their repair shop. I will be learning their methods of repair for high tech finishes. AND I get to take DaWife, she doesn't fly well but I will get a few glasses of wine in her before we take off and she will be fine. Just don't give her a window seat. I do have to pay for her fare so I will be selling a few items on Ebay and I still have a few string winders left over from Ijam should anyone care to purchase one.I just noticed this and thought it needed special attention. These are wonderful string winders. - They actually work... and well.
- They don't bind, they don't slip off.
- They don't nick your headstock.
- These are better than any string winder anyone else makes, period.

Sometime around Labor Day next year I should finally get a chance to actually use it, and I have no doubt it'll work. In the meantime, I keep in on the desk next to my guitar stool. (I have this fear that when the big day comes, I'll forget to use my new string winder.)

I tried winding a string around the thing. I guess it worked out OK, if you want to store your strings that way. But i don't get the point. Here, have some orange chicken |

I keep it on my desk (that's what I call the sink) in the bathroom. I sit on the stool (you can call it a toilet if you like, but I don't). Sometimes, when I don't have anything good to read, I take my guitar in there. |

Almost forgot -- you know how you wad up your used floss each morning? The string winder's really good for that. I'm pretty sure it'll save me 6 or 7 minutes per year.

I mostly just like glass winders. I guess I'm just a traditionalist and stuff. String winders're hard t'see outta.

Yes Don, I drilled and tapped the cap nut so I could lock it in place. The ones I have now don't need the set screw because I used a locking cap nut.

I sell them for $40 ea, parts per unit cost me a little over $9. I had 4 left from Ijam and due to the amount of requests will have to do another run of them. I will find some nice wood this weekend, Flame maple or maybe some type of Burl. No more Cocobolo, that stuff is nasty to work with.
