The guy from First Street Music just called me. He says they got in a 1967 Martin and he is selling it for $1500. I am going to look at it in a little bit. He told me what the model number is, but I forgot and didn't write it down. He said it is in excellent shape and is absolutely beautiful. I'll get some pictures. Might be worth getting.

Small bod? Dread? It's unlikely to be rosewood as it would be Brazilian at that period and they go for a lot more. I'm intrigued.

Specs would be good. Anxiously awaiting your post, although I'm probably going to say "go for it" anyway.

Will do Tim. I only saw it earlier through the window as I drove by. Maybe not classical, but it's not a small body. Looks to be a more full size?

I want to say it's a 12-string. I am about to head out to a job site, I am gonna stop in and drool a bit.
Pictures are forthcoming...

Ok, 'classical' might imply a slot head. Couple that with a dread and it could be a D18S 12 fret.

At First Street wonder how long it would take me to get there, 45 min. LOL Get the info and save me the drive. Look through the sound hole at the neck block and the model and seriel will be there. You can get the year double checked by checking the number on the Martin site or I've got one of the cards in my wallet.

I'm thinking that almost any model of 1967 Martin, in excellent condition, would easlily be worth $1500. Sounds too good to be true or maybe the guy just doesn't know what he has.
Awaiting the results of your visit, Ron.... er ah Cribbs? And pics... lots and lots of pics!

I'll let Cribbs buy it if he wants it. I agree almost any 67 Martin should be worth $1500 even if it needs a neck reset. If he doesn't want it, I'll have to see what it is. I could use a small body 00 or 000 18 or 28. I've got two Martins now one 30 yrs old and one 4 yrs old, but I'd love to go for 40 yrs.

Okay, here's the deal...I did take pictures, but the cable for my camera is at home, so I will have to get those off tonight.
It *is* a 12-string. 1968 Martin D 12-20.
EXCELLENT condition, plays bee-friggin-yoo-tifully.
I will get the pictures off as soon as I can and post here.

Andy at the music store said when he looked it up it appraised around $2000. I mean to tell you it is in FINE shape. The only bad thing about it, is whoever owned it apparently took an ink pen and inside the guitar, reaching down through the soundhole, wrote the serial number on it.
Andy said he could sand that off though. Gawd, if I had the money to buy it, I would in a heartbeat.
Someone will be extremely pleased picking that thing up for $1500
