I am man enough to buy it, but I am smart enough not to.
At least, not until we finish the house!

I remeber a long thread about being whipped. Buy it Andy will make you a deal. You can keep it at my house so she doesn't know.

If it is up there a while, I may be able to buy it in a few weeks. I might can even talk Andy into putting it back for me.

Yeah, give him $1400 and he'll put it on layaway.
You need it Cribbs.

MFever has a D-12-28, which I used on "The Week After Easter" on my CD -- really nice guitar. He said over the phone just now that if this 12-20 sounds and looks good, buy it at that price for sure!

Cribbsy - only question I would have is why a 28 series Martin would have a mahogany back and sides instead of rosewood?

I don't know much about them. Is a 12-20 a 28 series?

D-12-20 isn't a 28 series it's the only 20 series I know and they are hogs, even has D-18 bindings.

I think what MFever said is a 20 is mahog/sitka and a 12-fret slothead, and a 28 is rosewood/sitka and 14 frets with a regular headstock.

I don't suppose it would it would be helpful to point out that the only real good deal on a Martin is to use the money to buy a Taylor?
Just trying to see if "Flake can catch up to me.

That's nice, Cribbs, but do you need a 12-string or a really good 6-string. I may have missed a purchase, but I thought you were still on a sort of entry-level guitar. If you are, unless you have a burning interest in playing 12-string, I'd pass. Unless, of course, you think it's enough of a bargain to make a few hundred on and move along.

Well, I never played a 12-string until today. The sound was unbelievable. I am not in the market for it, but if it is a deal that won't come up again, it is worth looking into. I don't know that I would want to sell it to make money, I just thought if it was a great opportunity, I would see what I could make happen. Or, if anyone here was interested in it...
