My favorite Podium guitar of the week is probably this mahog/Adirondack L30 by David Flammang of Greene, Iowa. His guitars are all gorgeous to look at, and understandably expensive. This one is $4,375. Podium has four of David's guitars on the wall, and they have not sold because of the Unknown Factor locally, I spose, but they are well known elsewhere. Howard Emerson knows them well, for instance, and has recorded extensively with a different Flammang model. Listen to Kevin Mfever play it here: www.thepodium.com/mp3s/FlammangL30.mp3Podium description: David Flammang's take on the Gibson LOO. David makes two differently braced LOO's and this one uses straight, non-scalloped braces for a more traditional "bluesy" voice. It's simply the best of this body shape that I've played other than David's scalloped braced version (more Nick Lucas like). It has the bass, the volume, the brilliance and the liveliness of an original 1930's LOO but is built more stoutly so you don't have to have an extra room for your luthier in your house.
The L30 has a very solid bass that none of the modern versions of the LOO by anyone seem to ever have. The trebles shimmer with complexity when you let them ring out and are loud all the way up the neck. The Workmanship is as good as it gets. Flammang guitars are truly world class instruments.

I think flammang builds wonderful guitars...I playeda 12 string some time ago that was the nicest sounding 12 I have ever played. His L-00 is one I would love to own.

Those Flammangs sound wonderful and what Howard does with them is truly inspiring. Jeez Bill you are not helping my GAS but I will not get another instrument unless it`s a Sitar.
