I did a little digging around, and it looks like Squadron Leader is hard to find. Although I did find a couple of vintage (empty) tins from the 1930's for sale in the $100 range.

I'm going to give these things up as soon as I can find a doctor who can guaranty me it will help but so far none will. You need a smarter doctor. He should have told you that, if you die anytime in the next 50 years, just come back and ask for a refund. No questions asked.

I too would rather be on my back porch, puffing on some fine Virginia flake and reading a good book (might be a little chilly today). I admire the craftsmanship of Danish pipes, but I think I'll stick with my cheap eBay estate pipes and collection of no-names. Lately I've been smoking Iwan Ries products www.iwanries.com; IRC Virginia Flake, IRC Slices, and Dr. Bradleys Mixture (an "American English" concoction light on the latakia.

I found those two vendors also, but if you click through, you'll find they are both out of stock. I just stopped by my shop at lunch. I bought a couple of pipes... a Nording like this one: And a Peterson like this (mine is the same shape, but this is a "Donegal" model where mine is a "Kapet", which means it has a slightly different band: These aren't particularly high end models...the pair cost me $140 with tax. I gave the Nording a test smoke at the store, and it draws very nice. I'll give the Peterson a try tonight.

Lovely pipes Omaha, and I imagine they'll last a decade or more so amortizing the cost over time that's not so bad.

I can't afford a pipe like that, so usually I just sit in the bathtub.

Nice looking pipes Jeff. Good thoughts to you whilst you puff on them.

I don't smoke but a buddy of mine rolls his own with some expensive tobacco that only has tobacco in it (no additives). The stuff really smells good, both fresh and burning, unlike the pre-roll packaged crap.

... with a petite brunette holding the flame. :-) I think I'll stick to my corncob. I don't know, the petite brunette sounded better to me. There are certain activities corncobs can perform in an emergency that I would never ask a petite brunette to do.
