It's an off year. My ballot consisted of two school budget overrides and one city council run-off. I mailed it in a week ago. Yawn. Well, at least we're not drowning in campaign ads.
Tomorrow we'll read that the results from New York, New Jersey and Virginia imply something significant about national trends, which they probably won't.
Anybody voting in any interesting races?

Nope - not even any tax related local stuff on the ballot - mostly stuff I can't vote for - mayor, city council seats.

I mentioned this in another thread but...
The area of Virginia where I live is about 50/50 black/white. Last year at teh polling place the lines were about 50/50. This morning at about the same time we voted last year, I only saw one black and she was signing people in. Since most all the candidates were white and the Democratic candidate for governor distanced himself from President Obama, I don't think they'll get the turnout they had last year and the Republican will probably win more because the Democrat didn't get the support of the folks who voted last year. I don't know if that will hold state-wide but that's how it looked here. Admittedly, most of Virginia doesn't recognize us any more than we recognize them. I'm kind of interested in what's happening in New Jersey but haven't heard anything yet.

Our local special tax issue votes Saturday the 14th. They f'd the mother all up so I'm reluctantly voting no. Pity. We desperately need the infrastructure portion of the isue. I wish they would have separated the components.
