I had surgery on my right foot 11 weeks ago. One of 2 pins in it is trying to come out of the top of my foot. Some nice pain. I will see doctor tomorrow to get it pulled out. I don't know what he has to do or how much longer I will be off work. Foot looks fat and very red. As far as being off work, I don't care as I'm retiring after March 23rd. Sounds like a plan.

11 weeks should hopefully be long enough for any bone or soft tissue healing. Usually pulling the pin and antibiotics clears things up OK. Good luck.

At least I can still cook. I've worked up a menu for the next Ijam and hope you all enjoy what I make. Will still have a large stock of Asti and a good supply of strong, dark coffee for AlanC.

They're pulling the pin out of the foot? I thought the pin was permanent.
Tell me your Ijam menu. I won't tell a soul.

The pin is a permanent pin. But not for long. He will have to dig in there to get it out. Maybe some more pain pills? As far as food goes. I'll need a small weber grill and Freewilliewigglers wife to do the cooking as I plan to be jamming with all the guitar gods and godesses at the train depot.

Certainly hope you finish healing soon, fc.....and can again enjoy painfree living. And cooking. And picking.
And if you would.....I have some really nice peeled and deveined shrimp for Sunday and the ballgame.....PM me with what you used to season the shrimp you had at IJ. I can probably get them pretty close to what you did. They were awesome. I won't have any Asti to wash them down with, but we never got into that bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon I had for New Years so it will do. It was going to be our New Years Red Solution.

The dry pack of good season Italian dressing. Follow directions but use a little bit less of the vinegar and some light olive oil. Put in a baggie and turn every time you go by frig at least 6 hours and then drain. Make plenty as they are habit forming.Your shrimp can be warm or cold when you pour on the seasoning.

I was going to make hand grenade jokes, too, but having just had a bunch of hardware put in my heel bone a week and half ago, I'm not laughing so hard. I hope you heal up quickly, and that's the end of the pain and problems!

Back in for more surgery. Will off for 8 more weeks after that. That will take me past the time I planned on retiring.

Just make sure you're OK at retirement. It would be a shame to retire and not be able to enjoy it, even for a few weeks. Heal quickly.

I'd postpone the retirement as long as you're out with the foot. When it's better and you go back, then retire.

They tell you what happened with the pin? Pretty darn sure those surgically emplaced pins shouldn't just come out.

Yowzah, Bob. Last I knew you were headed to Stars in Cedar Rapids on Sunday. I'm sure you were following doctors orders precisely Mary was making you do things right, so who knows what happened. I'm sure you're in tears over missing the factory, I should drop a box of facial tissues off in the morning.
