He needs to be removed from the air. Very unprofessional--no matter how the spelling looks, you don't go mouthing off like that on the air. (He must have snickered at the bit in the Groove Tube movie about Vietnamese names.)
My sister teaches at the university level and once had an Indian student named Ashit. When she first saw it, she tried to pronounce his name "ah-SHEET" but he corrected her in front of everyone saying it was "uh-shit" so she thought, oh well, that's what he wants.

What the announcer did was wrong. He shouldn't make fun of other people's names, especially when the "humor" is caused by a quirk in different languages.
Although had it been me, I would have been making a few Code Brown jokes too.

What's worse is when an announcer starts laughing without meaning to. It's almost impossible to stop once it starts. That's never happened to me, but I never did that much live broadcasting. The kind thing is to cut to a commercial.
