G'mornin' - the clear sky fooled me - the moon was so bright I thought it was getting near dawn - so I'm up way too early looking forward to a day with lots less rain, but probably going to end up going back to bed and sleeping in.
So UP AN AT'EM!!

Up and cold. It's nowhere near upper-mid-west cold but that's why I don't live there anymore. Here, anything below 20F is cold. Have lots of practice time, staying inside, so I'm trying to learn "Anji" but it's proving more difficult than it looks since I can't do the thumb-over thing for the E string. Anybody play that without using the thumb for the F?

Good Morning Good People
It's warmer than Minnesota and colder than Arizona here, slightly on the plus side of the Fahrenheit scale.
Being the trendy sort of people we are, we joined some friends last night at the new Belgian brewpub that occupies an old church. The beers and food are all Belgian; every bite and every sip was wonderful. The multi-pierced and multi-tattooed staff were quite friendly and over-the-top enthusiastic about the beer selection.
Came home and struggled with fingerings on three Irish tunes I attempt to play.
Off to get tires balanced and thence to bring order out of chaos with housekeeping tasks.
Have a melodious Saturday one and all. Minnesotans and Iowans should skootch a little closer to the woodstove and pick a few.

Good morning. I had my final check up with the eye surgeon yesterday and he said I was 20/20 in both eyes. I find it hard to accept that I can sit here and read the paper without glasses.

Good morning. Congratulations, Roy. I can't imagine what that's like.
Doug and kramster must read different forecasts, but it'll basically be mid-40s-70 here. Diane needs to see a doc this morning because of a bug that's getting worse so I'll take her. That necessity displaced my only plans for the day but I'm not complaining. Have a good one.

I'm off to the farmers market for some Turkish specialties and the best damned brown rice I've ever had...this qualifies as an emergency run because we're about out of the grain.

Morning. Nice and cold here, although it's above zero. I used to consider that warm for January. I must be getting wimpier as I get older.

Mornin'..... Up, but not quite attem yet. Coffee first. Sausage and scrambled eggs next. Then at 10:00 I'll do a house call and run over to Meade and teach a lesson. First lesson for a new student, a 10 year old girl. Too wacky here on Saturdays to have them come to me. Scored a 15 pound boneless Ribeye yesterday for only $3.99/lb. Cut it into 18 steaks, one 3 lb. boneless rib roast, and a little stew meat. Guess what's for supper tonight? ;D Five of those steaks have been marinating in Worcestershire sauce and Liquid Smoke since yesterday. Yes, I'll say it again - it's the same kind that Todd puts in his coffeecake. Still can't get used to the built-in editor that comes with Firefox. Having the little squiggly lines pop in under typos and misspellings is weird. Not to mention less work for Bill.

I didn't know about this. After reading Don's post I went and downloaded it. Cool beans! I can appreciate that spell-check. Sadly, as I downloaded it yesterday and have been getting used to it for a day-and-a-half, I'm finding some real hurdles to get past. First, I nearly croaked this morning as I was blogging and realized that my method for moving images in my post box doesn't work with the Firefox browser. I used to be able to highlight a large section of text and code and click and drag it further down in the post box. As I needed to go further down the box, I simple grabbed the highlighted section in stages, moving it downward. With Firefox, as soon as the text has been clicked-and-dragged into place, it is no longer highlighted. Therefore, I can't find the just-moved text and code amid the rest of the text and code. Bummer. Serious bummer. Also, all the text in Firefox is further pixelated and harder to see and read. Further -- for the first time ever I can't seem to move from blog to blog or site to site without my "cache of cookies" disrupting everything. I have to go back, empty all my cache, and start all over logging back onto sites. I'm not exactly sold on the Firefox idea. And last time I downloaded Firefox for a trial, it didn't replace my explorer -- the two coexisted on my computer and I could choose to browse with either. Yesterday when I downloaded Firefox it erased and replace my explorer. I'm less than happy.

Well today I learned how to ride one a snakeboard. Yow!
I was picking up my daughter from a party this afternoon and they had one lying around. I have a bruise coming on my butt and a scab forming on my left elbow but it was great fun!
Took me right back to the great skateboard scare of '76. Anyone remember Ty Page? I also took the skin off my big toe doing a 360 on a regular skateboard. What the hell is wrong with me?!?!?!?! I think it's the start of the male menopause.... ;D

Yesterday when I downloaded Firefox it erased and replace my explorer. I'm less than happy. Firefox install does not erase IE. It may ask you if you want Firefox to be your primary browser and then when you click on a URL or a html file, Firefox will fire up instead of IE. Look under C:/program files/Internet Explorer/IEexplore.exe and I'm pretty sure you'll find it there. Make a new shortcut if necessary.

Thanks, dick. It didn't seem logical that it would erase it. I found it just as you said and I created a shortcut. It's nice to have either option. I can theoretically use IE for the blog since it works better for that.

Up and awake. Just cleaned the place, and I'm off to get some shopping done. It's in the teens here headed to minus 22 tomorrow. Thus, somewhere amongst my shopping stops today will be some place to buy some sort of fortified something for tomorrow.
