I have my ticket to see Joy in Woody Guthrie's American Song. The show starts Aug.12th thru Aug 28th.Looking forward to seeing her perform sans her group, Castle Ridge. Anyone else going? A must see before she hits Broadway.

It would be a joy to be able to open the door and hear her play anytime I want. But doesn't it get cramped in there after 16 days?

Yeah. But it's the only way to keep Woody Guthrie preserved. Joy will be wonderful.

For a two week gig I ought to be able to find time to make that.

Thanks, FC. Yes the show, Woody Guthrie's American Song, opens tonight and runs through Aug. 28. This is the reason we aren't in the MSP area today. It's professional (Equity) theatre and this is a good show. It's two hours of Guthrie's songs strung together by some of the events in Woody's life. His songs aren't done deadpan as Woody did them but are full of harmony and energy fun and pathos. This isn't your "Mighty Wind." Several of our friends are in this as well. Mark Wilson and Paul Roberts are part of Bob Black's group Banjoy and soprano Karenza Yoder teaches music at the Iowa Mennonite School. - Dub

If her last name is Yoder, there is no other school in which she can teach.
