I support your theory. I used to pay a hard core biker bar in FL once I split a bill with this girl (not good looking) who played classical instrumentals not what you would pick for a biker bar. Chains, tats, colors and Harleys and they were a perfect audience for her.

Did you try to get her to play "Itty Bitty Titty"?

Did you try to get her to play "Itty Bitty Titty"? I did that in the next set. Have you snuck that into a set yet. ;D Show them you are versatile.

Working on it. I did play a little twelve-bar blues on the just intonation National, introducing it as "how to get chased out of the biker bar." They loved it.

Evenin'.....
A bit after 6:00 pm and I'm finally getting around to stopping in. Long day. Didn't really do much except go to Dodge. Played one service. Was supposed to play a new arrangement of mine, but the new gal on piano playing this morning spaced out and played right through the time I was supposed to play. I just sat there rather dumbfounded and eventually started throwing in licks on top of what she was doing, hoping to get her attention and get her to quit. Didn't happen. Oh well. The piece is ready for another time.
Tomorrow, I'll have lunch and a visit with Evan. That will be quite fun, and long awaited.

That's why every church musician should be issued a stun gun, Mr. Clark.
Back in San Francisco. Tahoe and the desert were wonderful. The concerts were a great success in all aspects except for the financial one. Today I played the living daylights out of my program and won the heart of a small but appreciative (and CD-buying) crowd. I'm amazed at the kind of stuff I've thrown to the audiences this weekend, and they ate it all up. There is still hope for mankind, I guess.
Time to learn a new program now.

That's a nice reaction, J. It's nice to be able to give an audience credit and then have them respond!
As someone new to all this, my duo partner keeps sending me blogs of performers who all counsel: "There is no song too familiar to play." I tend to like some of the relatively "unknown" material by some of today's singer/songwriters.
