Good morning. Record cold in Richmond yesterday, not a snark just a weather report. We met friends for dinner at one of the few nice restaurants here last night and between the temperature and wind, it was cold walking back to the car. Lots worse up the coast though. One friend reported 14" of snow at West Point where he had taken his son to the football game. They were camping with a bunch of kids and their tent got flattened. Not part of the plan but it's about what I remember of Boy Scouts and camping. Weather like this early doesn't bode well for this winter.

Sure. I try to say it snowed and people think it's hail. Or sleet.
The east coast didn't get snowed on, they got snailed.

Top-o-the morin to ya lads. Busy day yesterday. Fairly busy today. Today's project's are to winterize "The Beast". The Beast is our 1992 Olds Bravada that the wife and I bought when we were just married. It's our alternate transportation now. That we use when one our (or kids) vehicles goes out of commission. And when it snows. That "on demand" 4WD is as sure footed as a mountain goat on snow & ice. Last year when we had record snows, it was the only vehicle we could get out in. The Beast's 4.3 V-6 has somewhere around 400K miles on it. The odometer broke several years ago at 360K. Still runs good and uses no oil. Later this week it goes to our mechanic for tune up and new shocks. It looks like hell now. "92 was one of the flaking paint years. But we LOVE that old Olds. Also going to remove the supplemental window A/C unit from the kitchen. And bring in the garden hoses. Comon daylight.

Good morning, all.
"Winterizing" projects here, which means prepare for rain. Some roof patches, gutter clean-out, other things will present themselves, no doubt. (Remove a couple of window AC units) Edit
Also, I need to get some pounds back on. After almost a week of the squirts, I lost almost 20 lbs, a lot of it muscle mass. Don't really have any clothes that fit. Weighed myself yesterday morning - 145 lbs. Ate constantly yesterday. Net gain - 4 lbs.
Also played a bit of guitar yesterday. Amazingly, I dinnent suck... Patriots/Steelers game not televised here - that does suck... Due to finances, had to cancel NFL Sunday Ticket after 10 years - serious withdrawal. It'll be back on as soon as I get a job.

Good Morning Good People
Clear and cool, another marvelous midwestern autumn day.
I am no longer the father of a teenager. Ana turns 20 today. A sumptuous meal and cake await this evening. She is sacked out now having returned from a Halloween party after 4:00 AM.
Have a sonorous Sunday one and all.

good morning all
It is a lovely 39 degrees out there this morning.
Gage and I are going to our Fifth Sunday Project. Our church has adopted a trailer park.
I think it is gonna be too cold to stand outside and make pinecone turkeys, but who knows. We shall see when we get there.
"I learned something the other day. I learned that Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Halloween. I guess they don't like strangers coming up to their door and annoying them."

Today is trick or treat day in our town. Our town has done that for decades because they want everyone at the big downtown Halloween parade on Halloween so they have trick or treat the day before.

Good morning! My sympathies to all of you who got dumped on with snow. None here, but cold.
The trees are still hanging on to their leaves. The bunny was in the back yard. Morgan met some dogs on her walk with Lars this morning. She doesn't like dogs. *sigh* (except Breeze).
Working on compositing skills in Photoshop. My monitor is dying. yak.

Good morning, My duo partner and I are playing for a senior community gathering tomorrow night during the trick or treat times here (and MrR is coming to "roadie") so I don't have to worry about getting candy. I actually LOVE trick or treat night but here in the condo complex it's so hard to plan candy. Some years we have a number of beggers, some years not a one. Spent a wonderful couple of hours with the babies yesterday while my son and DIL attended a wedding. Can't wait til my daughter presents us with another one! Babies are just so much fun! I stopped at my first "grandma" rummage sale yesterday (just happened to see one) and bought a few things for the baby-to-be. I'm stocking up on baby toys and a few extras like bibs, etc since I'll eventually be doing some childcare for that baby. Also got some cute things that I'm washing and will take over to my daughter's later today. Somewhere in the day I need to play through the set list for tomorrow. We have a number of new songs that could use a lot more reps but we're going to play 'em anyway because they are the ones we worked on just for this Halloween gig. Then I need to get things ready for our esteemed houseguest who will arrive Tuesday morning! Busy busy busy! Better hop to! Enjoy the day, my SH friends!

top of the morning from gorgeous lake Tahoe. Had a great concert in Carson City yesterday, 30 or so people showed up and loved everything I did, including the weird stuff. My theory that people react well to all sorts of music, given some context, is being validated every day.
Also had a lovely time in Truckee with GregB, Merja, Merja Non-LAD, and her super-cute daughter (Greg's granddaughter, I guess). We met for dinner and chatted a bit, it was quite a fun time and those ribs I had were GOOD.
Off to Reno a bit later for the last concert, then it's time to make the drive back home.

Had a good time at last night's Halloween party. Met a few interesting people and didn't wander into any political discussions. Ate too much, but not so much that I'm unwilling to go to brunch this morning.
I've gone over my chorus music at least three times this week (outside of rehearsals) and am going to play some guitar just for fun today. The chorus music is supposed to be memorized for the Christmas concert in mid-December and I'm almost there. We have a memorization schedule, but I can't stand to do one or two songs over and over again, so am just learning it all.

It's not bad outside here today at all. Fifties, and the sun is out most of the time. I'm too lazy to finalize my garden for the winter, though. The weather's supposed to be decent next weekend as well, and I'll do it then.
