This electric guitar business has been a pleasant journey for sure. Having a quality amp helps, and I'm getting tones out of the tubes that just were absent from the solid state I had. In the past few days, I stumbled upon the guitar and amp settings that just have me smiling. That has me playing both the Les Paul and the Larrivee more often. Coupled with this on-going quest to master music theory, I may just break out of novice status after 20 years. If I ever got a tattoo, I know now what it would be. I'd get the circle of fifths tattooed on the inside of my left forearm. OK, musings over.

Paul, Here's some inspiration for you. I have always loved Freddie's power and tone. I think it has a lot to do with his finger pick style.

Good for you, Paul! Myself, I've always figured that as long as it's just a theory, why bother learning it? When they get around to making Music Law, I will listen.

Yes it is. Got to wind the Mesa out at last night's gig. Feels so good.

As long as we're talking electric and da Blues. . . . , here's a local boy done good.
Here's how you tune a guitar.

A good electric guitar is like an acoustic guitar. There's a lot of expression that comes out of the attack and release of a note.

Knew about Freddy King, but had never hear Melvin Taylor. Melvin Taylor is pretty doggone good. Thanks for the vids!
Bill, I'm just happy the study has lead to more playing. I can't figure out theory without playing it out on the fingerboard, so one follows the other.
