So far, few arrests. A group of what police are calling terrorists have been arrested for making bombs--seems reasonable to arrest people who might bomb me, the mayor or city hall. Right now the crowds are gathering in Grant Park for the big march. Things could get interesting as the day goes on. Seems like a good day not to go into the city for dinner, though.

Hope it's not too interesting. I'm sitting in SFO waiting for a plane to ORD.

It seems fairly calm. I was afraid things would get wild, but so far so good.
Speaking as someone who has actually been tear gassed by the Chicago police, I am glad things are staying calm.

Got home late after storms in Chi-town delayed flights. Plus we sat on a taxiway at ORD because NATO aircraft have cordoned off part of the airport for security purposes. I watched a replay of the WGN news when i got home. Seemed like they (the media) wer struggling to try to make a mountain out of a mole hill with their intense coverage of nothing.

Traffic getting into the city is seriously disrupted today. Lots of road closures.

The news this morning said 41 arrested. Let's hope for non violent protests and not too much stupidity from either side.
