I like them and I don't like that kind of stuff.
The green one best. Do you do that in kind of a flat 6 or 8 inch bowl?

Thanks! Right now the smallest bowl I make is 14 inches in diameter.

You make some very nice things, my friend. Again, you and I have some business to do when I get back to the States. Paul

I really like the "iron" one you left behinf. It sits out prominently in the Kitchen.
That green glaze is interesting. It's similar to your other green line, isn't it? But these look more textured. I like the photos a lot. What's different about it ?

the green is richer than the colour of my cup... and I love the little thumb thingie on the handle.
Is that a cobalt interior on that bowl?
One of these days I'm going to have to figure out how to get something substantial of yours from there to here. Your work is simply top notch.

Yeah, Marshall, the green is very similar to my other green. For whatever reason, about two years ago the turquoise green just fell out of favor. I'd still sell it here and there, but it was no longer "hot".
It also caused me another problem -- I couldn't display blue with it without the blue taking on a purple appearance.
So I took the cobalt out of the turquoise glaze and re-adjusted the whiting with some wollastonite to even out the surface a bit (cobalt is a surprisiingly strong flux).
I'm hoping that the truer "leaf" green will catch on with the rest of my natural theme.
Thanks for noticing the thumb thingy, Sekh! I continue to add more detail for my own enjoyment.
Some of the bowls have cobalt interiors. Others have a traditional Chinese glaze called an "Oribe" glaze. It's essentially a copper saturate glaze and it's semi-gloss dark green a nice foil to my matte green. I also like it with my new celadon too. Dar doesn't.

John:
They're gorgeous, as is all of your work I've seen (and own). I am always impressed by your creativity, artistry, and expertise.
And you're one hell of a guitar player too.

I'm with Evan. The cobalt interior item is just fantastic. If you make another southern swing, let me know.

Outstanding as ever -- with an eye toward important subtleties
Are you doing an East Lansing show this year?

OK, question from the pottery fool. How do you get those leaf impressions into the pottery? By hand or do you have a stamp?

Thanks for all the kind words!
Tim, I decided not to jury for Harrisburg this year. My friends say it's a really good show, so I plan on doing it some year .
Tam, I am in the East Lansing show again this year. I've been haunting their website to see who they have for entertainment this year. It's usually the best show in the state -- if not the country -- for entertainment. (the Duhks, Eddie From Ohio, Laurie Lewis, Tom Paxton, Robin and Linda Williams, Bill Kirchen, etc)
Tramp, I make stamps out of porcelain. I cut and carve the shape and then bisque fire them (fire them hot enough that they are stone-like, but cool enough so that they remain porous). I've made a series of leaves -- oak, maple, elm -- as well as some other geometric stamps.

Nifty pots! The Duhks do some fun, toe-tapping tunes.
