Just some random observations from the street:
Ct has now stationed State Troopers at the gas stations along major routes (ie Interstate and Parkways) To manage hot tempers. Were being flooded with motoring refugees from NY and NJ.
Major road hazards: What seems like 'logjams' turn out to be long lines in the travel lanes lined up for gas. Just pass slowly and carefully and watch all the people reading newspapers in their cars.
Driving in the tri-state area: Absolutely glorious. Hardly any traffic anywhere besides the gas lines. Everybody's out of gas. Air quality quickly improving.
News item: a van was stopped on the Interstate and it was found to be loaded with about 6-7 5 gallon gourdes of gas heading for the New York State line. Driver and gas dispenser to be prosecuted for misdemeanors.
Signs along the way: 2 nights ago on the Merritt Parkway a hand drawn sign appeared: "Generator for sale" Day or so later sign gone. Either it got bought or the seller had second thoughts... we got another one coming. I wonder if the price went up or down.
Sign on large truck in driveway: "Seasoned Fire Wood for Sale" That's a little disingenous, don't you think? Shit just got cut up a day or so ago.. But if you got some place to store it.. it might be pretty terrific for cheap next winter. (If we make it to next winter)

And some after thoughts: What a beautiful day!! Beautiful blue skies. Cold. But absolutely invigorating.. The NY tristate area is out of gas. And life is glorious again.
(I don't mean to belittle the suffering that these people are going through. And many many are truly suffering)
I saw the most incredible shooting star of my life time. Blazing white light with a brilliant tail. Shooting from the north to the south. Is someone trying to tell us something?
