Guten Morgen und Gute Nacht Alles
...chip the glasses and crack the plates ... that's what Bilbo Baggins hates...
1:45 AM on the Third Coast. Just got back from seeing The Hobbit with Ana. A fun movie -- they added a lot to the original story to stretch it out to three movies.
Much work awaits in a few short hours.
Sleep well and have a pleasant Monday upon arising.

Down at A&M to visit Cameron. Checked out the Viz Lab proper now that he has graduated from the studios to the lab. We saw The Hobbit and dissected it afterwards like we always do. Good time was had by all.

Good morning. I don't speak, I'm thinking it's German, but I hope you're feeling better, Paul. Still wet out but relatively warm and I'll take that. Still have a few Christmas presents out in the postal system but they're getting closer, maybe 75 miles south now. Had one that appeared lost and the tracking number didn't work in the regular postal tracking site or UPS site but the shipper sent me to a different postal tracking site, www.ups-mi.net/packageID/Default.aspx , which did work. My post office wasn't aware of that one either so if you have a tracking number that won't track, try this other site.

Two more lunchtime practices before our Wednesday holiday party. It's pretty much an electric set with no holiday tunes. I'm playing acoustic guitar and mandolin. We have three electric guitars, bass, and drummer. Three of us are sharing the singing duties. I'm doing Willin', Leavin' Lousiana, What's So Funny about Peace Love and Understanding, Brown Eyed Girl, and You Ain't Goin' Nowhere (which we all trade verses on) and doing backup vocals on the other tunes which are more in the rock vein--Get Back, Don't Go Back to Rockville, End of the World as We Know It, Switchboard Susan, So Tired, Surrender.
We'll see how the audience reacts to us not doing the usual stuff like Santa's Beard, Run Run Rudolph, Blue Christmas, etc.

Cloudy and yucky here. It sounds like we're supposed to actually get some real snow later this week. It's been a long time since I've seen that stuff.

Good day, whilst doing various other household chores yesterday, I managed to see all of the Vikes game and most of the Cowboys and Pats games -- all of which were really terrific from a back-forth point of view and quality of offense and defense.
Yungerdottir turned 21 yesterday, and in three weeks she will be a married lady. Still trying to get my head around that, but I am, of course, very happy for the young couple.
Elderdottir, meanwhile, and her beau flew from Merrie Olde Englande yesterday to Berlin, to visit and return to Manchester with the beau's maternal grandmother. I will see both dottirs on Jan. 4, the day before the first set of nuptials in Greenville, S.C. Elderdottir is maid of honor, natch. And vice versa in May, when Elderdottir is wed in Asheville, for those of you scoring at home.
(And if you can't score at home, where else can you?)

Where will Elderdottir and new hubby stays after they are hitched? Not over there in a whole 'nother country I hope. It would make it very difficult for you to spoil grandchillins.

Morning all. Lots of rain and wind here. A few power outages around the area, a few trees down Woo Hoo. Winter. Only 4 days of work left until winter break.

The younger couple will reside in Hendersonville, NC, the older couple in Greensboro, NC. And bite your tongue about grandbabies. I'm gonna need a few years to be able to afford to fly out there again!

Mornin'.....
Not a whole lot on the plate today. Two hour Christmas gig tonight back in Fowler at the Senior Center.
Thursday evening is the gig I'm looking forward to at Patrick Dugan's Coffee House. Great venue, great coffee. Should be a decent crowd and hopefully some CD sales.
