It was me trashing him for taunting. I was pulling for him and the Niners, though. I just have a very low tolerance threshold for them when they get in someone's face just because they made a good play. I (and Paul K) saw him mouth off at the Packer's coach after he made a spectacular run for a first down. We seem to be the only ones in the whole country that saw it, though. No one else saw it or cares. He is seemingly humble and all that on camera. Out on the field he was penalized for taunting and taunted the Packer's coach when he was on their sidelines. He gets all pumped up and goes ghetto when he is on the field. No biggie. Like I said, it just brings out the Mississippi Redneck in me is all. Still want the Niners to win. I hate that taunting stuff, too, drives me crazy. As does some defensive player going all nutzo celebratory after making a tackle and meanwhile, his team is losing badly. Dude, that is your JOB, OK? Maybe if you had a few more of those earlier you wouldn't be losing?

Marshall, I love the idea but I don't think that rule would work. If it were in place and I was a coach, I would pick a designated fall guys to get clobbered by the best defensive players the others guys have. Claim my guy is injured and will be out the rest of the season. Plan it well enough and you could clear out the other bench.

Ironically, it is because of the players union objections that suspensions will never be issued that equal the length of an opponent's injury.

You put a henchman in that isn't a true NFL player and he's likely to get beat bad for a TD long before he ever gets near anybody he can hurt. It takes a major amount of dedication and skill to make it at that level. And teams know exactly who is on the filed for the other team. If there's a mediocre player that has entered the game (henchman), the play will get redirected TO that guy to make him look like his pants are stuck around his ankles. You could also make it so the team with the offending player plays with one less man on their roster for the time of the injury.

Hockey has had a long history of bad boys whose job it is to be thte enforcer. These guys are not good enough players to be on the ice for long. Their role has been relegated to getting revenge on somebody who has taken out one of your key players.
But violence has long been a marketing strategy of Hockey.

I, for one, will be rooting for the Ravens this year. I just can't bring myself to like San Fran after the way they beat the Packers. So this'll be a first for me....rooting for an AFC team.

Now that it's hockey season again, I am reminded that Todd Bertuzzi can kiss my ass.

Tramp was suggesting sending a guy in to get hurt, not to hurt someone. The goal being to get a player suspended on the other team. Problem I see is how do you ensure your guy is hurt on a illegal hit.
