My current problem is picking a flavour of liquid. There are hundreds of different ones available and I'm the sort of fellow who can come to a complete halt in a tizzy of indecision when confronted with a choice from half a dozen soap powders in the supermarket. Have you tried any of the fruity types Jim? Are they too weird for words?

I tried their old variety pack and hated it. I think the flavors were coffee, cherry, vanilla, menthol and tobacco. Tobacco is the only one I kept. The others were good for a couple puffs, a big YECH! then the trashcan.
A lot of people seem to like the different flavors though, and some of them do their own custom blends combining two or more flavors.
I'm trying a new clearomizer though. I had read that the CE4's that come with the Ego starter kit were good for 2 to 4 weeks. I wasn't quite sure how I'd know when mine was used up, but I was assuming that it would gradually produce less and less vapor, prompting me to swap it out. Instead, I got exactly 5 weeks out of my CE4. That was Monday. On my way to lunch I got a mouthful of nicotine juice. I wasn't sure what happened and later turned it upside down. The juice was freely leaking.
So I put in a new EVOD clearomizer. I've only been using it two days, but so far it is much better than the CE4 with more vapor and (I think) better taste. It's tougher to refill though. Somehow I'm managing to get the fluid all over my hands and I still haven't figured out how it's happening.

I have discovered that you have to screw all the e-cig parts together very slowly and carefully. I have also decided after a while I really like the Apollo Sahara flavour. It gets nicer after some time and some familiarity..

Classic tobacco for me:
"The perfect tobacco flavor for those who favor the classic American tobacco blend (cowboy). This is a full bodied and robust tobacco flavor with a slight hint of sweetness on the finish. Our Classic Tobacco was carefully crafted to provide a bright and tasty vapor with a powerful but smooth throat hit. It will satisfy your craving for the classic American tobacco brands."
And I'm finding the same thing, that you seem to adjust to the flavor. I thought it tasted a bit like pipe tobacco at first, but it doesn't taste like that to me anymore.

And I think I figured out the EVOD clearomizer. The opening extends all the way down to the bottom, which makes sense after noticing it, since it's a bottom coil design. I think I've eliminated the problem of sloshing the fluid around when refilling.

Sorry, I guess I was wrong about them shipping all Ego kits overnight.

Good luck you guys. I don't know why I don't smoke- it wasn't a conscious decision. I smoked when I drank in my 20s like everybody else. The only think I can attribute it to is that I would always get wasted and lose the cigarettes before I finished the pack and when I was sober and working, I didn't really want or crave one. I guess that went on the whole time I was in my gonzo stage of life and when I quit drinking and drugging, I wasn't addicted to nicotine..... dunno... sounds plausible- let's go with that.

Now you guys have done it. I'm getting e cig ads in the banner space. Sigh. All for a good cause, I guess.

The ads focus in on key words used in some of the posts. No biggie. Scarier yet is when I'm shopping or researching products and ads for them show up over here. My initial reaction is usually "How did they know . . ." And then it hits me.

No they didn't send me the Crazy Cat Lady Started Kit, just thought it was a funny picture. Going to charge up these batteries and give this baby a try, Since they come with a little charge, I tried one gave me the head rush that I got when I first started to smoke, maybe a good sign.

Assuming we have any money left, we're going to order the e-cig kits when we get back from the trip. The sister we'll be staying with next week called this morning to see if there was anything in particular she should have, explaining that she had coffee and Scotch and I thought I should tell her we still smoke because I thought she quit awhile back. She said it was OK, she did too. Apparently she had quit but back on Mother's Day some Urologist yelled at her at the hospital, she's an RN, and she bought a pack on the way home and got hooked again. I told her I had always said as soon as the pressure's off I'll quit and I'm still waiting. I've noticed that various quitting attempts on Deadliest Catch have failed. I fear I'll have to be in a coma or something for a few weeks to ever quit but I'll try the e-cigs. You who have had success with them better not fall off the wagon though.

Bruce, I was as dedicated a smoker as anyone I've ever met. If it worked for me, . . . But ex-smokers always say that crap. They always try to make you think that if they did it and you can't there must be something wrong with you. You have to be motivated to make these things work, but you don't necessarily need the 24/7 willpower that other methods demand. It feels a little strange at first, but every time you get the urge, stick the e-cig in your mouth and take a good, long drag. These will satisfy the nicotine cravings. You'll also mimic some of the smoking ritual. In short, it's the easiest method to quit smoking. Maybe not easy, but easiest of the choices available, except maybe for that coma. I still find myself thinking about going outside for a cigarette after a meal and then remembering that I no longer smoke. When I tried to quit before, thoughts like that were severely depressing and left me with a longing that couldn't be satisfied. Now it's more like good news. It means I can stay in my recliner and puff on my e-cig. And I now prefer the taste of my nicotine flavored e-juice to tobacco cigarettes.

PS: it's been 67 days for me, maybe 68. I'd have to check my iPhone app to know for sure but it's upstairs.
