Lonnie -- Thanks for the post, very nice, but no, that is not what I heard at all. For one thing, she was playing with an orchestra (a Decca recording) and her hands had to be a freaking blur almost all the way through the thing. It was quite astonishing, made my wrists hurt just to think about it. Nicola was quite the shredder. I think her career was sidelined by RSI Playing at that level can be risky if thetechnique isn't perfectly relaxed and natural

Probably not going to get to the 100°F today that was on the news yesterday; it's too overcast. However, the 90's are likely and that may mean storms tonight.
Got the next few hours off, gonna run a couple errands. Then dinner with my folks tonight. I always look forward to bringing my son over for a visit with Grandma and Grandpa. My wife and I enjoy seeing them interact, my parents have told me that they really enjoy seeing us with him, and he has a blast being in a different home playing with different people and different toys. It's win-win-win!

A nice example of virtuoso playing with a fluid, relaxed technique is this, from Vladimir Gorbach. GREAT player!

Sounds as if we were cooler than Minnesota. When I got home from work it was 78 in the back yard.
