Don't know how many of you watch tv but......... Over the past few weeks I have been taping some of the new shows on tv this season. Well.. I finally caught up on watching them. All I have to say is most of them suck. I cant believe how Hollywood has gone downhill. I have to say I'm truly disappointed this year. it seems to me that everyone of them is about sex in some way, and in no way funny. I watched a show this morning ( Sean saves the world, something like that) anyways its about a gay father raising his daughter, the guy playing the lead was in Will and Grace. anyways the show I watched today the daughter needed to get a bra, she's 14, the grandmother takes her out to the store, and starts talking about her vagina, and how she should explore herself. Really ? Is this really called for ? I'm I getting to old ? Needless to say I deleted it. I use to watch Two & a Half Men, another show that has gone down the drain, I thought is sucked last year, and couldn't get any worst.... but it did. I think I think I only like 4 shows now, How I met your mother,( which this is in its last season ) Modern Family, The big bang Theory, and NCIS. I have to say also,as much as I love NCIS, I think its starting to go out on a limb also, it starting at the end of last year when that women became head of mosad, and then this year they killed off the Sec of the navy, and replaced him with the redhead. ( Even though I think Gibbs is going to start banging with her.) Anyways that my rant for the day.

Jeopardy! is going to have a Battle Of The Decades. That should be great. The Voice and American Idol will be something to watch a coupla times a week. There will be the Series coming up soon and after that, college basketball will be in full swing -- taking us to the greatest TV of the year every year -- the Road to the Final Four.

Hillbilly Hand-Fishing and Searching for Bigfoot are tops. Those bearded duck call guys are philosophers in camouflage. Basketball? Really? I would rather watch Honey Boo Boo eat her entire birthday cake and then wrassle her pet pig.

I don't know how NCIS thinks they can replace Cote de Pablo with Hanks jr.

We set up to record a few shows that are new this season. After suffering through one or two episodes, most are no longer on our record schedule.
"The Crazy Ones" - Robin Williams still does great comedy, but he can't carry the show.
Still watching Big Bang and NCIS. Also CSI, but maybe not for long. Still watching Two and a Half Men and wondering why.

I hate Big Bang. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Not because I watch it, but because I can hear that stupid laugh track from the other room while Jadene watches it. Try walking out of the room sometime so you can't see it and can't really make out the words. The only thing that comes through clearly is the laugh track which is louder than everything else. You'll notice that there is canned laughter after almost every single line, even though most of those lines aren't even meant to be funny. And the ones that are meant to be funny often are not.
I don't know how people can watch that show and not feel insulted. The producers seem to think you're not smart enough to know funny from not-funny, so they include the laugh track. Then, as long as they're adding one, they might as well put laughter after every line so that you'll think every utterance is gut-bustingly funny. But as long as they're at it, . . . they might as well make it a really loud laugh track. That way you'll know that it is the funniest show on television. Ever.
Did I say I hate that show?

I guess I don't listen to shows from other rooms, I just sit and watch them. I watch and thoroughly enjoy Big Bang. Honestly, I've never noticed the laugh track at all. The characters are funny, the dialog is clever, it's a good show. Of course, comedy has always been subjective, there are folks that think Dane Cook is funny. As far as what the producers think of me or what their marketing strategy is, I really have never thought about it nor do I care now that I think about it. I'd wager that just about every "hit sitcom" in recent memory uses a similar laugh track, but I'm not sure as I've just never noticed.

I don't think Sean Saves the World is especially funny but it seems to have its heart in the right place and I have no problem with it seeking to mine comic potential from awkward social situations. I found the offending scene at 14:00 mins. in this video. To me it seems a fairly innocuous bit of humour that's meant to make you cringe a little as it tries to make you chuckle. delishows.com/sean-saves-the-world-season-1-episode-2-busted.html

I'm not into those reality show, I see those and I keep moving along. American Idol, survivor, or housewife's from wherever. those are the ones I hate. I like the shows that are going to make laugh, have a good storyline, and I have to like the actors in the show. there's a new show out there called, the Miller's. Like everyone in the show except the person who plays the mother. she drives me crazy. I would also probably watch NCIS Los Angles if it wasn't for that old short lady with the bug eyed glasses.
Have to say Dane Cook in "My Best Friends Girl" was pretty funny. even though I not a fan of his stand up.

Kill your TV. Bette5r yet donate it to the Taliban and let it rot their minds.

We love Big Bang and NCIS. However, the new Big Bang dialogs are getting a little thin...possibly doing warm-up rounds in the shark jumping arena. Modern Family is so ridiculous it's good, but it took a little getting used to. Two and a half men jumped the shark when Charlie Sheen left and they morphed Allan from a frustrated guy bumbling in trying to do the right thing, into a devious mooch with no morals. A lot of the shows seem to showcase what used to be degenerate lifestyles, and potty talk. The Robin Williams show is painfully strained.

I can't think of one network show that I've watched regularly since I got DirecTV back in '99 or so. Mary watches some of them but that's why we have 2 TVs in different rooms. I think she watches NCIS and Criminal Minds regularly. Mostly I watch the stuff on the Discovery channel channels and of course any car show on any channel. I was surprised to find the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction on the National Geographic channel a couple of weeks ago. I guess they can stretch anything to National Geographic. Sitcoms don't make me laugh anymore. Reality shows aren't real let alone interesting. The network stuff is just thrown in with the package. I wouldn't miss it if it wasn't there at all.

The only regularly scheduled show we watch (besides the Adam West Batman reruns at 6:00 on Saturdays) is Big Bang Theory. For someone with a family business teaching social skills to people on the spectrum, it's dead on funny. Melva uses a lot of examples from the show in her classes. I think it's brilliant.

Monk is more OCD than autistic. Love the show - of course, we've got a thing about murder mysteries, too - but we're watching it on netflix. We discovered BBT during its first season, and watching it was a family affair. Lately the reception hasn't been very good (antenna, no cable) so it's not as scheduled as it was before. When it comes in, we watch it.

I enjoyed Big Bang for a few seasons. I'm just burned out on contemporary sit com. Dar and I have been watching the old Monks on DVD and enjoying what we missed (didn't see it first time 'round). He doesn't seem that abnormal to me.

My youngest watches BBT, and loves it. I have watched a few episodes, but I have lost my taste for a lot of the sillier comedy around. (Still love Monty Python.) We watch sports - NHL Hockey (Canucks,) MLS Soccer, (Whitecaps,) CFL Football (Lions.) We have a few shows we like - Top Chef, and Master Chef. (Suckers for cooking shows.) I have watched Game of Thrones, though we cancelled HBO this year, so have not seen the latest. There are lots of new fantasy shows on, but we watched one or two, and found them pretty bad. Downton Abbey is a fabulous show. My wife and daughters watch "Say Yes to the Dress," and we have watched America's Next Top Model.
Just keeping up with the local sports teams is pretty much enough, now. We also watch British Premier League Football, and other European leagues/championships. It's amazing stuff.
