Just found this forum - I'm hoping that this is the right place to post a few instrumental pieces, get feedback, and talk about writing in general. Been playing for 35 years - started at 13, played in a couple of bands, took a couple of years of classical lessons. Played pretty well continuously, with spurts of a lot of playing, and sometimes only a little. Few years back decided to start playing a lot again, and have been somewhat driven since. Play fingerstyle. Use a Fred Kelly Bumblebee thumbpick, and nails. Spent a year or so messing around with Alaska Fingerpicks, but in the end felt they were constricting me. I recently purchased an Epiphone EL-00, which was inexpensived, sounds good, plays great, and suits me very well. Anyhow, I write instrumental music, somewhat classically influenced, but pretty well all over the map - whatever takes me. This is a piece I recently completed, after starting last summer. It's called Hangin' Together, which means two things - one, I was hanging out with family friends at the time I started, and two, I'm still not sure it all 'hangs together'. So, any comments on the piece, how it flows, works, are welcome. Not played perfectly, a couple of bum notes, and I'm a bit unsure of the dynamics still. It's in WMA format, not MP3 - thought I would try that this time, and I'm happier with the sound. www3.telus.net/RickWaugh/music/HanginTogether.wma

Rick, welcome. I'm challenged when it comes to playing mp3s on my computer but I'll try to listen to these. Stick around.
