Propane prices are sky high around here. 4.59 a gallon. Some people can't even afford a basic fill. We filled up and 2 days later it jumped 2.35 more a gallon.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to that bill. I've been burning a lot of LP this winter.

Usually, we only use LP for the cook top but we have 3 LP space heaters in the house and they've been on a lot lately. I don't know how many gallons my tank holds but I have a feeling I'm going to find out soon. I think it has only been topped off 3 times since we've been here and that's 7 years next month. I've probably used more gas in the past couple of weeks than in all those other years total. The original owner had the heaters installed so I assume it's been cold here before but no one seems to remember it being this cold for this long.

We usually fill our 250 gallon tank less than twice a year. Fill doesn't mean full, of course, only 80% full in the summer. On Monday we were at 38%. We use propane for heating and cooking. With normal winter temperatures, it's not unusual for us to go through 15 gallons in a week, sometimes 20. If we continue with highs around 70F, we can probably hold off until there's no longer a shortage. We haven't checked, but I'm sure that prices are up all over the country, including warm and sunny Arizona.

We'e got electric heat out here. I didn't think I'd like it, but I love it.
