A little insomnia here. A lot of the country digging out again ad nauseum.
I think the Academy got it pretty much right this year with the Oscars. Was a tough decision with so many sterling performances to parse through.

Maybe about 40F today, mostly clear but occasional flurries.
Mrs. Henderson Presents on cable...

2 degrees here. Some day the sun will actually warm the place up. Questions is, when? Enjoy it.

Spent the weekend worrying over my daughter in law and babysitting the grandkids. Her PCP and local infectious disease doc sent her to Mass General for an FUO (fever of unknown orign) She's been there 3 days and that's still the working diagnosis. 3 days at MGH and no diagnosis, and the prognosis gets more and more worrying. only 2 hours sleep the last two nights.

Back at work after Bockfest in New Ulm. Think of it as a German Mardi Gras at -1 degrees. Caramelizing a bock beer with a hot poker from the fire.

We're expecting 4-8" of snow, Federal offices are closed so I'm snug in my kitchen teleworking, as are most govt employees I know.
It's supposed to be almost record breaking cold here tonight. Jane managed to escape to warm balmy Denver yesterday so she missed the fun.

70 degrees and sunny up here. If it weren't for the Maki boys wearing short shorts and those fishnet tank tops to the café this morning, it would have been a perfect start to the day in all respects.

It was 4 below on the way in this morning. It's gotten to the point that the 20s seem positively balmy.

We've got about 1-2" of drizzle ice all over everything. Had to basically chip my complete truck this morning. Schools closed. Shop flooding in one corner. Forecast calls for heavy rains for the next 4 days with freezing at night all on top of about 36" of accumulated snow. Yay!
