While I'm waiting for the small craft warning to be downgraded and the foot ferry to get back into service I've been doing some research for a friend on 'handpan' drums, and not getting too far. What should one look for in drum that essentially is a lap steel drum. Is there some 'magic' scale that I should look for or is pretty much any scale adequate. I also looked into making one. I think there's another use for Millring's kilns in the process. John you might consider going into the handpan business. So, anybody have any advice about these? and this is a complete one, the bottom is the side with one hole.
