We're fine... thanks, Bob! I moved away from that area over two years ago. It hit a couple of blocks from my son's home (he and his family are all well). One of my guitar pickin' buddies, Rusty Benson, lost his home due to some huge falling trees. A couple of schools have some damage. Several businesses are wiped out. Outback Steakhouse, Vanelli's (a few of you ate here back in 2003), Sleep Inn, some fast food restaurants, convenience stores, and a few others that escape my memory at the moment. Still awaiting a full assessment of the damage. FORTUNATELY... no fatalities have been reported. I'm closer to New Albany and we didn't get it so bad. Mostly rain, thunder, and wind. The mayor of Tupelo has set a 9 pm curfew. There are still tornadoes in the area (mostly to the south).

Some of you know Joe Jordan. He posted that a tornado missed his house by about a mile

Missed by a mile. Now there's a dusty phrase.

Some of you know Joe Jordan. He posted that a tornado missed his house by about a mile YIKES! Speaking of Joe & Co., how was your gathering? Epic! Joe hasn't made it for several years now, but Tim Wampler never misses one. Never was a Beatles jam, unless I missed it by being in another room, but lots of variety in the music department from celtic fingerstyle of Steve Hawkins to classic country and bluegrass from Patsy Stephens to rock, Motown, blues from lots of folks and of course singer-songwriter stuff from George Wirth, Norman Draper, etc. There was this one college kid, Noah, from UMd who sat in on jams in every style and was playing great leads on clawhammer banjo to almost anything including jazz standards he was hearing for the first time.

Thanks, everyone! One of my good pickin' buddies lost his home. A lot of extensive damage with some areas looking like 'war zones.' So odd to see some homes/buildings standing with little or no damage while surrounding structures were totally destroyed. Even more amazing that only one fatality was reported. Much of the rubble has been cleaned up and most of the utilities are restored.
