Raven Labs Personal Master Blender PMB-2 - $225

The built like a brick shithouse inspiration for the DTAR Solstice. A great solution for blending multi-source acoustic rigs (mic/piezo, piezo/sbt, sbt/magnetic, etc.) Super beefy construction, hand made in the USA by Raven Labs (the company Steve Rabe founded before SWR .) Great for upright bass, too.

Long out of production. Can run off 2 9V batteries (no ground loops or dirty venue power!) Lots of options for ins and outs…check out the pics! Gives the lauded Pendulum a run for its money – and is way more rugged. Excellent + condition. Just one notable scratch as seen in the pics.

This is the PMB-2 model with improved power filtering via 48V phantom, and 6db more gain per channel. Same chassis as PMB-1. Upgrades were all internal – at least at this point in the sn# run.

Hughes & Kettner Blues Master - $275 - Sold!

This was a box made ahead of its time. In an era with lots of modeling options (POD, AmpFarm, Native Instruments, etc.) this is a real amp. A 12AX7 preamp tube, and an EL84 power amp tube. Use it as a D.I. (it has cabinet simulation, the precursor to the H&K Red Box). Use it to push the front of a tube amp. Run an 8ohm cabinet directly from it! There are so many routing options. And it takes pedals like a champ. A seriously great recording tool.

This has been to the shop. All pots are clean. Tubes are testing great. Solder joints are solid. All ins and outs work as they should. In excellent condition – just some scuffing on the top and bottom, not through the finish. I’ve had this for years…time to move it along.

This has the same pickup element as the DYN-G, albeit with a longer cable. Studio use only – never gigged. Like new. Brand new adhesive putty included. Sounds like a mic, because it’s a moving coil element…like a mic. This is what Chris Thile used on his Dudenbostel and Loar for years…

Great sounding little (1/3 rack space) two channel mic preamp. This is a big step up from small mixer and interface preamps. Plenty of power for gain hungry dynamics (SM7, RE20) or ribbons. Stepped gain allows you to repeat your settings. Balanced in, out. Insert. A solid D.I. Built in Austin, Texas. I had to spend a lot ($2k) to get into a stereo mic preamp that outperformed this little bugger. Excellent condition.

RME Fireface UC - $800

Fantastic USB-2 based interface for Mac or PC. I bought two for a project studio plan that hasn’t materialized. RME optimizes the USB-2 protocol in such a way, that you get latency times comparable with native systems. Having used quite a few interfaces over the years, I can say that nobody beats RME's drivers. Rock. Solid.

This unit has less latency than my Apogee via Firewire. Use it with Logic, Protools, Cubase, Digital Performer, Reaper, Garage Band, Sonor, Ableton. You name it. A lot of ins and outs, including the option to expand via the ADAT protocol (8 more ins, 8 more outs).
Brand new. Unopened box. Includes the optional rack ears (1/2 rack unit to mount in 1U full space.)

Interested by the Sunrise (I'm a magnetic PU sucker), the Schertler (always wondered how those sound), and the Lace (the Lace is 2mm thicker than the National, so I assume they are different, don't know much more)

The Blues Master has become my new favorite. I run it through an old Cabinet with a Jensen MOD speaker and it sounds great. I am having a 13 ply Birch plywood cabinet built for a 15" JBL. The JBL is far more efficient than the Jensen. Can't wait to stick that I pick in my forehead.
