Filled the VW today. Back in the days I was driving VWs if you spent $3 on a fill up you coasted in to the station. With the gage on empty I put in 8.24 gal and it was $29 and change.
Kingman AZ cheap gas $3.59 gal.

$3.35 here. When I got my driver's license I thought I'd get one chance to drive around for at least one night but gas was too expensive according to my folks. If I remember correctly, it was 65 cents a gallon. And I'm about the youngest forumite here.

Gas in our town is mostly a Tuesday thing. It seems that a lot of people have frijoles and beer on Monday.

I'm a tad younger, too, as Jimi Hendrix had already played his set at Woodstock a few hours before I made my first appearance (in Kansas, not Woodstock). I believe XYRN might be the young'n of the regulars.

Drove thru VA MD PA NY OH IN IL WV last week and gas was $3.50 and higher most places. Saw $3.19 in Shadwell VA yesterday. Got 29 to 30 mpg on the 2000 mile trip because I was going over 75 most of the way. Local station had been $3.34 for many months and just dropped a nickel

Yeah, I think either XYRN or I might be the youngest. At 41, when I was first driving in the late '80s, gas was just under $1 / gallon...about $3.50ish here in the Twin Cities now, at least where I fill up.

Regular gasoline (10% ethanol) is $3.369 in Cedar Rapids but $3.479 in the Iowa City area just 20 miles south. Regular gasoline without ethanol runs about $0.30 more per gallon. The state subsidizes ethanol. (Don't get me started.)
When I first started driving, regular gasoline was around $0.22 per gallon. That roughly translates into $2.38 in today's dollars using the 1102% inflation rate for energy since that time.

In the Chicago area, if you can get it for $3.80, it is a bargain. It can be much more along the toll road and interstate highways. I think I saw $4.07 the other day.

It was $3.53 in Sierra Vista yesterday. Usually it's 8 or 10 cents cheaper in Tucson.

Regular is $3.49 today but that's because I filled up Friday at $3.54. They always see me coming and raise the price when they know I'll need gas.

I filled up for $3.46 at Superamerica yesterday in Anoka... with the SA card discount it was $3.43. And I'm old enough to remember a gas war in Texas where it was as low as $.07 a gallon... (here's a new sign of the times... there is no way to even make a "cents sign" on a tabet keyboard.)

On my iPad I just touch and hold the $ key and I'm offered a choice of money symbols including ¢, ₩, £, €, and ¥.
Other keys also have touch-and-hold options. The E key offers ė, ę, ē, ê, è, é, and ë. O offers õ, ø, ō, œ, ò, ô, ö, and ó.

Todd, when was you borned? I'm sort of sure I'm a tad younger than you, but I could be wrong. I'm an October '65 baby. I was begat in 62, and borned in June 63. So we're about the same age. I'm sure we both thought Marsha Brady was hot, although now she looks like a kid.

Of course, he had to repeat his senior year so that is why he was getting out so late.
