From the same Augusta concert that produced the Johnny Winter tribute: Mary Flower doing an enhanced-and-expanded version of a Bessie Smith song that she sang with Pat Donohue a long time ago. After the concert, I told her that it should go on her next CD, but a video is even better. The backup singer on the far left is Lauren Massé of Manhattan Transfer.

I have that song on a CASSETTE of Pat Donohue's. I once asked him if he'd ever re-issue those cassettes onto disc. He said, "no."

Hunh. I deleted the video. It had more problems than I could deal with. Anyway, the song is Temptation Rag, and Mary was able to hop in after only 2 practice run throughs, as she mostly remembered Scott Bennett and I playing it back in the 70's in Denver. I was amazed that we could play it together so quickly. Here is the sound recording. Much better fidelity than the abortive video anyway. And Al Pettaway's pithy commentary. It is on Soundcloud, so I apologize for having to go jump through their hoops. Hope it's worth it. From Swannanoa Guitar Week 2008: Temptation Rag, Doc and Mary
