Tim and Sandy have their big radio show to do tomorrow, as I recall, with rebroadcast available online in a couple of weeks.
PLAY PRETTY, boys!
El, you have those details available to post here? I lost track of the particulars. I was listening to "Giving Voice" in my car last night, and it still sounds fablioso!

Break legs, not strings (or nails).

Bill et al -- thnak you very much -- the show went GREAT! I am sure I made some mistakes but I don't want to remember them. I'm remembering the very warm and lasting ovation from the audience when we finished our set.
The good news is the show will be rebroadcast and streamed on a number of radio channels -- I will get the details to all as soon as I can.
We had a room of 100-120 to play to -- the event was recorded for radio and videotaped for cable and the local Maryland newpaper was doing a story on the event. We met Carl Kassel and Susan Stamberg and they both liked our playing -- we had a relatively short first set but a much longer second set. It's about 4:00 AM and I couldn't sleep so here I am posting what I can before mye eyes go shut.
One of the stations covering the show wil be replaying the show once a week for a few weeks and they indicated they would be playing the entire Giving Voice CD on air during that time. It was surreal boys and girls. This comes from a guy who was terrfiied to play a short tune for Bill Hammond, Sandy Shalk and Doug Young at Swannnanoa 2003.
Yes I was terrified as I stepped onto stage -- but once we got going, it all seemed to smooth out. Not sure how but it did.
When I have a little more stamina I will try to post a little bit more about the experience -- It was just an unbelievable experience -- heck we even had a green room under the stage -- a great place for me to sweat off about 10 pounds! HAH!
We sold a bunch of CD's, got tons of compliments from professionals and audience members alike - we played two duets that turned out not bad at all. And we nailed our signature tunes -- Sandy played Moon River and Planxty John Irwin GREAT -- I ended up playing a few more tunes only because we had some extra time at the end of our set and I was ready to go.
I did not get a chance to hear the show as we were below the stage all night -- but when it re-airs (mulitple times apparently) I will -- I'll post these details later.
Anyways gang -- thank you for thinking of us on this night -- we were playing for many of you and with many of you in mind. Truthfully.

Guys/gals -- I am going to try to condense a very intense experience into a few paragraghs later this week and post it here after I get my office desk cleared. Thank you all again for remembering and thinking of us on Saturday. What Sandy and I did on Saturday certainly wasn't nearly as important in the grand scheme of things than perhaps what Bill has done for himself -- but it was a monumental effort by two little known guitar players thrust into a deep end of the professional production swimming pool. Heck - I'd never been in a green room let alone know what to do in one. So for me -- there might as well been 100 thousand in the audience instead of the 100-120 -- it was the most terrifying and at the same time the more exhilarating experience I've ever had in my life. I was far less nervous at my wedding. I'm just glad the old ticker held out and so was Sandy (I swear he thought I was going to pass out before went on). Talk to you all soon. /tca/
I have to find all of the radio show links and post them here so you can hear the show.
