I'm happy to share with my friends here that my beautiful daughter became engaged today!
The groom-to-be is a fine young man, and we are very pleased to welcome him to the family
Every daddy hopes his daughter will find the right man to marry, and I believe that to be the case with Rachel.
It has been a good day.

Congratulations, Shannon. You're not losing a daughter... etc., and please pass our best wishes on to the bride and her mom, too!

Very cool, Shannon. Having only had daughters, I'm quite glad to finally have a couple of sons in the family.

Hint from the been there done that - Offer them a bunch of money to elope. No matter how much you offer you will come out ahead.

Congrats to Rachel and her beloved and proud parents on both sides!
Acquiring a kid-in-law is a blessing. Watching your kid get married you discover emotions you didn't know you had.

Terrific, Shannon! And congratulations to both of them. I don't think that's going to happen to me for 20 years or so.

That's why Bill is working all the extra late hours, to pay for both weddings. Huge congratulations. It's a great thing she brought home someone you like. I don't know that my eldest will ever tie the knot. But who knows, she keeps pretty quiet about her personal life, and she's in Toronto. Middle daughter is just 18, and in no hurry. I'm good with that. The youngest is a ways away from even thinking about it yet. I hope.

Congratulations, Shannon. And to your SIL to be. I hope you're explaining to him how incredibly lucky he is.

The son of friend of mine just graduated from law school. I reminded my friend that "officially" he now only has a son-in-law.
So actually Shannon, I think you are a father-in-medicine.

I sure appreciate all the good wishes and advice. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it.
