I think it shows signs of progress by the human race. We have moved from photocopying our butts to nude selfies. At least they are not taking close ups of their butts.
Say, Marshall, if you really want to surprise Bill.....

If someone sneaks in my house, rifles through my bedside cabinet and steals my honeymoon vids and love letters to show to random strangers, I'll have only myself to blame.

If I'd shopped at Target but didn't pay with cash, how stupid I would have felt when my credit card details were stolen by hackers.

So I guess its a waste of time Googling for "nude photos of Redwood?" It's bound to be Not Suitable For Work.

I don't believe anyone took nude pictures of Kate Upton. I'd have to see the pictures to believe it. Anyone know where...

Do celebrities deserve to be crime victims? I don't see that blaming the victim makes more sense because he or she is prominent.

Do celebrities deserve to be crime victims? I don't see that blaming the victim makes more sense because he or she is prominent. OK. Over the weekend Sue and I went out with a couple. This woman has a best friend that was a paparazzi. She wrote a book on it. It's not all that clandestine as you think. For the most part the celebs are in on it. Someone from their entourage will place an anonymous call saying such-and-such will likely be shopping on Rodeo Drive on such-and-such day. And the photogs show up and take pictures. The celeb feigns moral injury, all the time being dressed to the nines and basking in the free publicity.

. . . , If Marshall took naked photos of himself he would be safe. Trust me, nobody wants those photos so there is no market for them. . . . , I don't know. I have Hammonds cell number. His birthday is coming up. Maybe I'll surprise him. Just to be safe, I went ahead and googled just that. The results are, in fact, not suitable for the workplace, or the family table. However, none of the photos are of me. Promise.

That's all well and good but I do not see how being legally photographed in public, possibly in situations engineered to raise one's media visibility, then having those images shared with the world relates to having private and personal, explicit photos stolen and shared with the world. Perhaps you did not mean for those things to be compared. Discussions are like that.

I don't think they "deserve" to be crime victims. I just don't find Upton to be a very sympathetic victim. Yes, it's a meaningful difference that she had taken from her what she regularly gives away. So she has a right to pursue charges or whatever. She just doesn't inspire much sympathy. Beyond that, and more to the point, she doesn't inspire much sympathy because taking naked selfies strikes me as stupid. Yeah, they're her selfies. But say "selfies" enough times, add "naked" to it, and just try to feel sympathy. I can't.
But no, she doesn't "deserve" to be a crime victim. But, though I more often than not bristle at it, she does deserve to be ridiculed.

Kate Upton does not regularly give away the photos of, or consent to millions of internet peeping toms looking at, her and her boyfriend having sex. This, apparently has happened and I don't see why she deserves to be ridiculed for taking sex pics for her and her boyfriend's enjoyment.

I think it is better to focus on the photo thief's inexcusable violation of these people's privacy.

And this too will pass. I think the big lesson here is we may have taken technology beyond where humans can feel comfortable with it. And there is no way of going back. Was the technology level of 1955 the ideal? But we can be sure that technology will keep an upward climb. And even today's technology is beyond the science fiction of our youth. (if you are 50 or more) I think there has to be a limit to the human/technology interface. Picture 50 yrs ago we were amazed with James Bond's gadgets. What will it be like 50 yrs from now. What kind of world will today's HS senior be living in.

Kate Upton is indeed a beautiful woman. She consents to, and gets paid for, any number of photos that anyone may see at any time. She didn't consent to this. It's akin to the difference between making love and rape. "She had it coming" shouldn't suffice in either situation.

You'd think everyone would have learned that back in the Tommy Lee/Pamela Anderson era.
