Good morning. We're having a hot spell but it's still pleasant. Enjoy your day.

Went to bed basking in the comfortable thought that I could sleep in this morning...and then Angie's alarm went off at 5:30 because she has to go proctor an ACT test.
Dangit!
Oh well, nothing can spool the pleasant afterglow of the Royals game last night.
The maple in the back yard dumped it leaves two days ago. Gonna go get some of those big jack-o-lantern bags and rake 'em up.
Been nice here the last few days. The doorknob on the front door gave up the ghost this week. Last night I rode five miles, after dark, in shirt-sleeves to the hardware store to get a new one. Gorgeous, even if the girl at the store was a little cranky about having to make ten duplicate keys.
Cheers!

What. Dan started the daily. In other news, it's raining in Oregon. Gonna meet up with David later and mess about with guitars.

Good Morning Good People
Cloudy and cool. Stuck at a desk much of the day -- the new job is busy enough to slop into the weekend and still have stuff hanging on from the old gig -- wouldn't be hanging on so long if I had any mental energy left on weekday evenings.
Met a new client yesterday whilst doing a property inspection for his new shop -- he restores and upgrades classic cars. He rolled up in a vehicle with a shiny red 1957 Pontiac body underlain by a 2012 Corvette chassis, engine, and drive train. I think it's kinda fast.
Spent some time last night reading and playing banjo (or attempting to play banjo) whilst sipping stout. I had a hankering for stout; the local craft brewers offer coffee stout, chocolate stout, pecan stout, etc. I went with Guinness, just plain stout.
Have a splendid Saturday one and all.

Jeff, customer service is both a fading art and a huge business opportunity. You could have asked her for eleven keys, and suggested a place for the extra one, but that wouldn't have been polite. Rob had an outdoor soccer tournament last night, and I went in shorts and a long sleeve t shirt. We are having just lovely weather down here in the lower Flyover. Have a good one, all. I am currently procrastinating, and will get around to writing my essay on Syria tomorrow.

Ears still ringing from last night's show at the Vic. Them Drive By Truckers play some loud geetar. When they came out for the encore I said to my daughter that I hoped it wasn't a four song encore as I liked them but was tired. It wasn't four songs but about seven.

Heading for the mid 80s today and tomorrow. Windows open, trying to cool the house as much as possible. One more day of this and then we're into the 70s. Attending a Halloween party tonight. Not really my thing to dress in costume and go to a party where I only know a few people, but Mr. H enjoys it.

Wife gets a costume, dressed as a brick. Hubby gets some denim overalls and a mortar trowel.

Bathrobe, check. Slippers, check. Curlers and pajamas I would have to buy.
We've settled on some witches' hats that we haven't worn in a few years. They have long gray hair attached. Some black clothes and we're done. Maybe some red tennis shoes for me in place of ruby slippers.
Forgot to mention in my earlier post that the wash across our walking path was no longer wet yesterday. It had been running since 9/8.
