I'z here. Plan is to take a little road trip today. Just down to the river. Watch out for Baptists, or at least bring your water wings. Freezing out but supposed to get to the lower 50s. The Pats play the Colts tonight so I have the day off. I keep thinking of golf but went outside to leave some bread out for the birds and that convinced me that golf would be uncomfortable. Maybe later I can suit up and go play lumberjack. I still have a lot of wood to add to the burn pile. The outdoor burning ban started yesterday though so I can't burn 'til April. There's no rush then. Don't ask why daytime outdoor burning is banned here in the Winter. Even the fire department doesn't know. I asked.

Cold, but less so than yesterday and, more importantly, no snow. Maybe up in Marshallville they have some but we in the Southland were spared. Stay warm, humidify those guitar cases and enjoy the day.

Good morning. I have to drive to Gallup NM today for business this week in nearby Window Rock AZ. I'll be in a motel for four nights. I'm not looking forward to it but I'm looking forward to putting it behind me. It'll be 50s-70s here and teens-40s there by tomorrow. Have a good day.

Good Morning Good People
Snow -- about two inches. Gotta check to weather forecast to plan whether to shovel or wait for it to melt.
Very moving memorial service for my Dad, lead by his long-term pastor. Found out that my Dad, who loved sailboats, used to poke fun at his pastor for choosing a powerboat. This was followed by lunch served by church ladies, naps and card games, and dinner at a very fine restaurant with the whole extended family, minus a couple of southern nephews.
A few household chores, then heading back to Kalamazoo to hang out prior to the committal service tomorrow morning.
Have a serene Sunday one and all.

Morning
It's 9:00 now, I started rousting people at 8:15 so we could go to breakfast. I want breakfast not brunch, by Sunday brunch time cooks and waitresses have already had enough of people and are getting surly.

Beyond sluggish this ayem. Up a little late, and had Burger King for supper as I was on the road and in a rush. This hangover is worse than a beer hangover.

No kayaking here -- it's 8 degrees, a dusting of new snow fell overnight, and the sun is blazing and the sky is super-blue. Nice day for the middle of December, I mean November. I think Babs and I are going out for breakfast. Glad my new Lands End coat arrived Thursday -- it's toasty good.

Morning
Had the heater fixed, only cost me $80. All the guy did was change the air filter, said once the air filter gets clogged it shuts down the unit so it wont overheat. So change those air filter !!!!

Back from short road trip. We called it "road trip" in FL, in WA we called it going for a "scenic", in E WA Chris grew up calling it a "day trip". I guess it's regional. Anyway I-40 to Topock (AZ side across from Needles) ate breakfast at the Topock66 Spa & Resort (only restaurant, bar and marina are finished) nice view out over the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. Also had un-PC urinals (picture at end) and un-PC chairs (picture at end). Then back up old 66 and AZ 95 to Bullhead City then back to Kingman. 140 miles in 50 mph wind with gust ~70. Coming north on old 66 through the blowing dust I'm looking ahead at a tumbleweed about the size of the HHR coming toward me up my lane of the 2 lane. Chris is in the passenger seat pointing ahead saying "thingie, thingie" couldn't come up with the right word. So after I dodged over in the wrong lane to let it go by we've been laughing the rest of the morning about "thingie, thingie".
