Good Morning Good People
Windy. Cold. Six inches of snow. Broken snowblower.
Yesterday morning was the committal service for my Dad. Honor guard of retired guys, two active-duty Army sergeants in dress uniforms. Before the playing of Taps, the leader of the honor guard asked any veterans present to stand. The only veteran present was my Mom (1st Lt. Elnora Brandhoff, U.S. Army Nurse Corps). Mom is 91 and not too steady on her feet, but she stood at attention. I like to think she was not only honoring Dad, but honoring the millions of her generation who have passed on and the few who are still with us.
Afterwards my siblings and nephews scattered to slip-slide back to northern Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Texas.
Back to work. Reports to write and lawyers to talk to.
Have a tranquil Tuesday one and all.

Beat me to it. I deleted mine. I'z here It's still cold. Jury Duty today. I've got my version of Tom Dooley ready. Just keep singing that under your breath and you'll be home by noon. I stood and saluted for your dad. Felt honored to do so.

Good morning. That sounds like a moving service, Tamarack.
I'm in Gallup NM where the elevation is about 6400 feet and the current temperature is ten degrees. It'll probably sink more before sunrise. All's well otherwise. Have a good day.

Good morning. Guess I should be happy it's about freezing here. I see that Buffalo is getting up to 5"/hr lake effect. I remember that from living outside Syracuse but not fondly.
I've had 2 "Welcome to AARP Medicare Supplement Insurance" calls with the caller reading from the same script. I think they may be having short term memory lapses.
Still can't seem to cancel Mary's Obamacare policy but as far as I can tell they'll just cancel it after 90 days if I don't pay the premium. Hope it doesn't hit my credit score.
I now I'm not allowed to ask a serious question but I wonder if our representative in Japan has anything to clarify what's going on with the finances over there. I'm only interested from a financial planning perspective. Is it as bad as CNBC says it is or is it just a reporting problem on export numbers? This morning there's apparently a new election called. I'm reviewing my advisers foreign picks because I think they tend to hold the foreign funds too long like they held gold too long. CNBC make it sound like Japan is toast.

Morning,
Well... Today is my wife and I, 25th wedding anniversary. Does that mean I have to renew, or am I Free??

G'mornin' - making pastry benefits from practice; every year during pie season I find new ways to make bad pastry (not inedible mind, just not great . This week I'm quite happy with the pie crust, light, crisp and flaky - hope I can figure out what I did for the next time.

That was a moving description of your father's service, Tamatack.
So, exactly how cold is it, Doug? It's 4 degrees here.

Jury duty means I'm much lighter today. Had to leave the M-60, the .45, the .357 and the sword at home.
