I have plenty to be thankful for including being home from the hospital after a two months stay. I just got out day before yesterday and it was rough especially the first month. ICU most of that. My liver started bleeding 'cause all the blood stayed inside 'cept that part that came out the south end of me. Miserable, miserable pain, I even ask Drs at one point that they put me to sleep and not wake me up. I said this right after the they came up and said they didn't think I was going to make it. My son, who overheard the comment believed it because he went to my home and took several of my guitars to his home. I got them back.
Nothing else to report 'cept I got zero time in on the guitars and mandolin while in the hospital, but the cause of me going to the hospital in the first place was a badly broken Tibia on the right leg. I broke it while walking on a cement floor after a black out. All I can remember is waking up on that floor, bleeding from a fresh head wound and my right leg hurting like hell.
I could not walk an inch, so 4 or 5 weeks of that hospital stay was in a rehab hospital. I'm still not walking and it looks like it'l be awhile before I do. Pain still too much to put any weight on the right leg. I'm to see the cancer Doctor week after next. The new doctor for cancer won't see me till then. The news won't be good I'm sure.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.
I baked sweet rolls for breakfast.
We had a 4pm dinner at a place 5 minutes from home. Turkey, stuffing, two veggies and potatoes, followed by pie. Plates were totally full, no skimping on portion size and they even brought a extra boat of gravy. Plus I got to have a lovely brown ale, Big Sky Moose Drool, and two fingers of Irish.

Happy Thanksgiving all. Life rolls on here on the left coast. My family is healthy, and I am thankful. As a friend, going through bankruptcy and tough work times once told me, money comes and goes but if you and your family are healthy, everything else can be worked through. So good health to you all. Be good to yourselves.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.....been a fine day here. Quiet, with just myself, Barb, her sister Jo, Joshua, Ty, and Carrie. Shay is still in OKC and having a bit of a rough go of it. Will try to get her up here for Christmas. Has a new boyfriend that she lives with now who seems to be an OK guy for a change. We'll see. Dinner was magnificent as usual, followed by the traditional nap. I managed to find a few minutes this morning to make a quick Thanksgiving video of an instrumental tune called "Give Thanks". It's up at Facebook, and will attempt to put here too. Haven't tried to do that yet but if I'm lucky it will be just below. Roy.....Wishing you the absolute best as you deal with what you have going on. You are one among many reminders that I get that I'm not the only one facing significant health challenges. May we all heal and have as many more years as we can. Here's the video.....I hope. www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10203008077674206Yay.....it worked. Edit - Well crap. It didn't. If anyone knows how to post a video from Facebook to here, please let me know.....or just do it.

Super good hearing from Roy and Don here! Things have quieted down after a full day. Fridge is stuffed with leftovers. I'm stuffed. The kids are stuffed. Best news of the day: Sunnie has been telling stories for a week about how "mommy [that would be Rebecca, my second oldest] is having a baby!" At this point in her life, that's pretty much the last thing she needs. She is finally on the cusp of having things together (one year on her new job, a couple of promotions and raises along the way, been keeping her budget more or less in order, Sunnie is in Kindergarten and doing great, etc), but her new flame is a total and complete flop. Ugh. Anyway, the good news is Rebecca announced that the rumors are false. 100% not pregnant. Whew! There's still a little part of me that suspects she just wasn't ready to come clean yet, so there's some nagging doubts. But if she was playing us, she played us all...her announcement was made in front of the whole fam damily, so she's committed to it for now. I don't remember if I've posted this before, but here is a photograph I made last summer of Rebecca and Sunnie, sitting in front of one of my father in law's old cars, re-creating a shot we found in an old family album: How long until IJ 2015? I need to get away!

Roy, it's good to hear from you. Hang in there; you don't know the news yet. In the meantime, this weird forum is here to support you, Don, and others who are in pain and in poor health. Somehow we're all a family here and we want to hear how each other are doing and we appreciate you telling us what is going on and we all want you to get better. We want Roy on his three-wheel bike, and we want Don with a new heart. Thanksgiving, for this forum, is hearing from folks like you, inspiring us with your attitudes, and your taking the time to be around us.
Millring, your post is included in that as well.
My SIL Thanksgiving was unusually pleasant. She actually had turkey skin, and she acted more than normal. I think it's because we had a smaller group this year, and the ones who were there weren't the ones she over-tries to impress.
Who I want to hear a Thanksgiving story from is Lonnie, after his description of what what coming, the communicating with turkey's show, and his hint that Thanksgiving was going to be "surreal". I hope all of that went OK?

Thanks Roy, and Don, and Jeff for sharing your humanity with us. We all have much to be thankful for, no matter our circumstances. This is a very nice and caring family. Thanksgiving is for families, however close or far.

Roy, good to see you back among us. What a tale of woe! It is certainly hard to keep a good attitude through all that. Positive thoughts and prayers headed your way.
