G'mornin' - I thought the hot buttered rum just before bed time would put me out until a reasonable hour - it did if reasonable is 3:00 am, after trying to go back to sleep for an hour, figured I'd start the daily instead. Back to calorie counting after a weekend of complete abandon in the gustatory realm. Hope your week is looking up

Second to last day at work. Mostly cleaning my office. Anyone need 10 year old computer books? Programming in VX-REXX? IBM DB/2? OS/2 Presentation Manager Programming? Delphi, Oracle, PHP, VB6? Might make the electric blues jam at Colonial Tavern tomorrow if I'm feeling up to it.

Taking the Christmas stuff down since it's a rainy day. Getting it all back into the attic is the hard part. Happy last Monday of 2014. Maybe Mondays will be better next year.

Cold but sunny and clear. No snow, which is a real plus. We will take our decorations down over the weekend. We always leave it until after the new year starts. Enjoy the day.

Morning
Never made it to the grocery store yesterday so that will have to be done today, and a run to the Podium. Working on the Hummingbird, getting all the dirt and dust out of the finish. It won't buff to a nice gloss because the finish is imbedded with dirt/dust so I have to hand clean it first which is all elbow grease work. I could wet sand it with a very fine grit but that would remove the patina too. I want it to look its age, but clean and shiny.

Christmas Decs come down after teh NY when the weather, and my back, permits. I've been having some back problems. It's a recurring control muscle thing. It's sitting in a chair (or a car) for lengths of time that lock the muscle left of the spine in an isometric cramp. It takes a few days to calm down. This attack was the worse I've had maybe ever. I can't sit. I finally worked outa thing where I can sit on the floor against a couch with a computer on a board across my lap (propped on boxes). That works for a good while. I can wiggle around.
Last night i was feeling a little better, so I decided to sit in the camel chair by the window and type my soundhole nightly news commentary. I did OK, butwhen it was time to go to bed, I couldn't move. It took me 5 minutes to get out of the chair.

Good morning. It was 29 degrees a few minutes back. That's cold enough for me. I'm taking the day off, and maybe tomorrow, because nothing ever happens between Christmas and New Year in my office. Diane and I will go to the Musical Instrument Museum, where we haven't been for a few years. Enjoy your day.

Morning, all. Seemed a little odd to be back in the regular morning routine after a week off. Somebody left a stack of notes from the client on my desk changing half the stuff I worked on before Christmas, so that's back to normal.

Off for another week, thank God. My family is coming to visit today. Go shopping, play a little guitar, be social. Slept in until 7:30. Wow.

Slaving away here. The final component of the office move is now complete: New phone system. Much better! Much nicer! Still a bit of configuration to do, but a huge improvement.
First pot of coffee is gone. Dang.

I felt it coming on while working at the wheel yesterday. It was inevitable. A friend needed a ride to the airport last week and he had it, though his wife was waiting on it. And conversation at the party the night before revealed that most who were there had had it. Then, over the weekend I made a trip to Indy where I celebrated with what was left of my family -- several of them home with it.
It was inevitable.
So, last night I unrolled my bedroll on the bathroom floor right next to the toilet. Then I put a bucket next to the toilet on the other side. Next, I laid down on the bed and did a few practice sit-ups to make sure that in the delirium and emergency, I would be able to hit the target.
I brushed my teeth and went to bed and waited.
It was inevitable.
About 9:30 my heart started pounding and it wouldn't let up. I tried relaxation. It didn't work. Finally at about 10:30 the cold sweat washed over me and the inevitable finally came. I was glad I thought ahead.
In the morning I made a big mistake. I was sitting at the kitchen table. I trusted a fart. I needed a shower anyway.
Feeling much better now. Everyone sez this is a 24 intestinal thing. I hope so.
