I like Budvar the best and Zywiec, a Polish beer, when I can get it. For British stuff there's Wadworth 6X, Bass and Young's Special bitter. And of course, Guinness. It's true that it tastes better in Ireland than anywhere else. Just don't drink it out of a can!

Cribbs -- glad you liked Bitch Creek. I haven't had to opportunity to sample it yet. I went to college with the president and original brewmaster of Grand Teton Brewing Company (formerly Otto Brothers). Charlie convinced me that majoring in geology was a good idea. In 1973 we were enthralled by the idea of earning $12,000/year working outdoors. In 1976 Charlie and I and two biologists spent 2 months studying alpine glaciation in Colorado.
Charlie has never worked as a geologist. Now I spend my days fretting over contamination from decrepit factories and leaking underground storage tanks. Charlie lives in a log cabin in the Tetons and spends his days tending to malt and hops.

Hey J that Leffe Belgium ale is lovely...all three of the beers in their line that is locally stocked here are great. Extremely expensive here but as a treat I love it.

Yeah Matt it's outrageously expensive here in Nashville too (as is Chimay), but back home in Italy they're priced like any other beer and as such they're a favorite of mine. The Vielle CuveƩ line (Purple wrap) is really, really, really good.

Matt, I had to go to a training conference in Lille a few months ago. Lille is within spitting distance of Belgium and the locals served a raft of Belgian beers. Leffe was the best. I had another tasty pint here the other day called Abbot Ale. Good stuff all around me. There is a reason my wife and I now refer to the best selling beer in America as Buttwiper. PaUL

Fuller's London Pride or Timothy Taylor's Landlord wet my whistle nicely.
I bought a case of Guinness for a truck trip in East Africa once having been surprised and delighted to find some in rural Kenya. Oops! The sweet loving African tongue is specially catered for by a syrupy 7 1/2% alcohol (Eek!) Guiness confection. Blurry doubled elephants and headaches ensued.
