Up.
Coffee.
Just checked Amazon, and the new shocks and springs for my bike should be here today. Gotta check with the tire guy next door. If he gets them on by tomorrow, I might have the whole business put back together by the weekend.

I am up. The huge moon is in the western sky and it is pretty light out. We have 20 inches of snow on the ground so that may be part of it. Try to have a good one.

Morning
Sunny 21 degrees, we're on a slight warming trend.
Had a good nights sleep, I needed it.

Banana down and chai tea brewing. It's that day of the month where I act healthy.

Good morning. Target Canada has begun their liquidation sale today. Up to 30% off! But mostly not. Meanwhile, back at head office the failed CEO is taking a 60M something bonus while thousands of minimum wage workers are fired. They are calling the employees 16 week payout a severance package when in fact it is only pay if you work to the end. A lot of employees are not showing up (subject to disciplinary action by Target apparently). This company is almost as contemptuous of Canadians and the Canadian economy as our Prime Minister.
I've been in Targets in the states, and while they are pretty bleh mostly they were much better than anything they opened here.
Back in Owen Sound two houses in the downtown area burned to the ground this morning. *sigh*

Didja get a snow plow rig for it ? Heh. That's what it would take right about now. A little over ten years ago, I tried an experiment where I rode all winter. Unless the roads were just crazy icy, I was out there. Know what? That was dumb. The take-away was that riding in sub-zero weather sucks. I don't care how much gear you have, it just sucks. This season's work was new shocks in the back, new springs and oil in the forks, new tires (really needed those), new braided brake line up front and new front pads. The worst thing about the bike was the suspension was bouncy, the fork was crazy divey, and the front brake sucked. We'll see in a few weeks (heh) how these mods work out. Something I like about old bikes vs new: With a new bike, the best its ever going to be is on the day you bring it home. With an old bike, it just gets better and better every year!

Chaos rules. Supposed to go to the dentist today, but got an early call changing that. Got an email from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield stating that their data was breached. Yep, the group health insurance that I'm losing at the end of the month is now yet another source of possible ID theft. Mr. H's automatic payment from our checking account for his Medicare Part D (drug coverage) didn't happen yesterday, so we have to get that straightened out. Meanwhile, Mom has been in the hospital for a week and is getting out today. Lung problems, heart problems, etc. At 88 she has had enough of this and is going on hospice care back at the nursing home where she has been living for 2 years. Taking the focus off of prolonging her life and putting it on being comfortable.
